TKC MUST SEE!!! SOCIAL JUSTICE ACTIVISTS DEMAND KANSAS CITY CASH ASSISTANCE FOR RESIDENTS DURING CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC!!!

This group asks for the same City Hall help that 12th & Oak is providing to local biz . . . Take a look:

CCO Calls on City Council to Launch Cash Assistance Program

On Tuesday, Communities Creating Opportunity (CCO) sent a letter to Mayor Quinton Lucas and the Kansas City, Missouri, City Council, calling for bold responses to the COVID-19 public health crisis, to aid workers and families.

The social justice organization called for "adequate cash assistance for those who have lost jobs or income and those who need funds for childcare." It is CCO's belief that if the City Council can provide half a million dollars in cash relief to businesses in Kansas City, as is currently being planned, it can do the same for struggling residents. The nonprofit launched a petition to support this effort.

CCO further outlined measures such as "forgiveness of utility bills, not just postponement of payment; assurance that there will be no evictions for inability to pay rent; and housing for the homeless." It stressed that "meeting these needs immediately is absolutely critical if vulnerable populations are to survive the crisis."

  1. A good idea but KC is set up for corporate welfare, not to help the voters.

  4. Professional sponges using a crisis in hopes of getting something else for free. I’m glad the federal government is going to help out those who lost their jobs; they deserve it. But these “activists” are for shit.

  6. They really can’t be serious can they? They get free money, food, housing and transportation so what the hell do they need more money for?

If the city can’t give a half million dollars to city union mission then these crooks don’t get any either.

  7. I DEMAND that these weirdos and oddballs STFU.

  8. They wrote a letter? And then submitted a petition?

If these polite strategies worked, Clay Chastain would be mayor and KC would have a gondola.

Maybe they should go full on Ferguson. Or Mahatma Gandhi. Stage a peaceful sit in, in front of the toy train. Or push it over. (It can't be that difficult--those cars slide off the tracks during every ice storm.)

Maybe they should chain themselves to the front doors of the EDC. Maybe they should camp out on the steps of City Hall.

Or lock and arms and encircle the Country Club Plaza. Even if it is deemed private property, the streets entering it are not. The Police are not enforcing the six foot rule.

But really while it's fun to use this satire site to foment--I do not support this group in the least. Each member is about ten days away from receiving a check for $1200. They can--and should--pay their rent with that money. Too bad we didn't figure out a way to do direct deposit to their landlords, rather than it going for cable, booze, cigarettes and lottery tickets. Someone better figure out how to cash a check if you do not have a checking account.

Somebody better figure out how to have a real bank cash those checks rather than those payday loan places or check-cashing joints for a giant fee.

  11. There are so many "activists" with so many causes in KCMO that after a while it all just becomes background noise.
And NONE of them can work together because each "chief activist" desperately wants to get all the TV face time and interviews.
None of have any kind of serious well-informed well thought-out plans or take even the most basic facts or reality into account.
It's just all about THEM and their DEMANDS.
    What a tiresome joke!

  14. The City is on the verge of Bankruptcy. They have a new Hotel that is already in the hole. No cash flow. No Conventions for a number of years. And the conventions that are planned are going to The Crown Center or the Marriott .Tax Payers will be Hit with the bill if this is ever over .EVERY year it will be something else. Don't give them your money .TAX WILL BE HIGH.

  15. Tracy is absolutely right. The majority of any “stimulus” payments to this type will end up at the casino, the nail shop or Red Lobster. It’s too bad that they’re getting any payment anyway. People should be paid for working (or being retired/legitimately disabled) NOT for breeding illegitimate litters.

  19. Pelosi is fighting to get an extra $600 added to unemployment claims weekly.
What that means is if someone makes $400 a week- they will get $1,000 a week.
Basically they will go from $10 an hour to $25 an hour.

Pelosi’s bill will disincentive people from going back to work and have them at $50,000 a year.

Anyone can see the as an attempt to socialize money and this will lead to unemployment that the US will not be able to withstand.

Go ahead and fact check this. Bernie Sanders might not be elected- but his ideas are being put in place with a blessing from Pelosi.
