Spay and Neuter Kansas City Temporarily Suspends Services

Due to the concerns over the spread of COVID-19, the clinic will be closed until further notice -- some basic services and support will still be available for those in need.

Kansas City, MO -- Spay and Neuter Kansas City (SNKC) announced today that they were going to close in an effort to reduce the potential spread of coronavirus.

“This was a really, really hard decision,” explained Michelle Rivera, founder and CEO of SNKC. “We really want to be here for our community, for the pet owners who rely on us to provide support for their pets but, at the end of the day, we often have over 120 people coming through our door, including staff, so our first priority is to protect others in the community.”

For now SNKC will keep their call center open in an attempt to provide support for pet owners in urgent need. The call center staff will try to help in whatever way they can and will be available at 816-353-0940, ext 5. SNKC will also be helping those in urgent need with pet food.

“We don’t have the resources we’d normally have,’ says Rivera. “But for our pet food pantry clients and for those in urgent need, we can try to help with a little food. We’ll also have a few other supplies we can provide, if needed. We just ask that everyone have patience and only contact us if the need is urgent because we won’t have the staff or resources to help as much as we normally would.”

Clients, donors and community members are encouraged to watch SNKC.NET and/or SNKC’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts for the latest updates.

How You Can Help

SNKC is still trying to assist as many pets and pet owners as possible. If you can, they have asked for pet food, pet supplies and monetary donations to be dropped off at their clinic. If you do go to drop off donations, someone will meet you at your car so you don’t have to get out.
