SHOW-ME FAMILY BREAKING MISSOURI CORONAVIRUS QUARANTINE!!!

A reminder that strict rules are hard to enforce in a free society . . . Here's the latest:

Father of Missouri woman with coronavirus violated self-quarantine to take other daughter to school function

ST. LOUIS - The father and sister of a Missouri woman who tested positive for novel coronavirus disregarded a quarantine and went to a school function on Saturday. The patient, who is in her 20s, reported feeling sick after returning from Italy on March 2.

  2. The Fox4 story is just part of it. The school function began with a pre-event gathering in a classmate’s family home, then proceeded to a Father-Daughter dance at the St Louis Ritz Carlton. These two are like Typhoid Mary. If anyone contracts the virus as a result of their selfish stupidity, daddy should be on the hook for every dime of their medical expenses, etc.

  3. This is why containment in the US won't work. Nobody listens to officials or follows orders anymore.

Evacuate for a hurricane? Fuck it, I'm riding it out.

Tornado warning, seek shelter? Damnit, I'm going to hop in the car and go film it.

Isolate 14 days for possible exposure with no symptoms? Don't tell me what to do, I'll do what I want.

People suck. They are the worst.

  4. 1:06 self quarantine is proven not to work. Slapping a court order for quarantine does work! You might get the occasional violated with a court order but a lock up in a designated armory or shelter Will certainly get folks attention! Public health has been taken over by the bleeding hearts of the left! Public health is supposed to protect the public from idiots like this... at all costs!

  5. We still have a constitution. There is no way you can lock somebody because they might be a carrier. But that's a side issue.

Point is, even with an order, a significant number of people will still ignore it. They don't trust the gubmint and won't obey.

One of the people that was flown back from China showed his appreciation by breaking out of the military quarantine facility. They should have flown him back and parachuted him over Wuhan. It only take a few of those to ruin society but that's where we are at.

  6. Sorry guy but you are wrong on that one and the constitution has nothing to do with it. Public health officials have the power and the right to lock someone up foe spreading disease

  7. Hmmm, I'll need to look into that, but don't think it's that simple. I still don't know how you prove someone is capable of spreading the coronavirus and order mandatory quarantine when the risk criteria includes isolation for 14 days after only possible exposure and a negative test.

I know each state is different. They can issue an quarantine order, but it's usually only a misdemeanor if broken, so the current penalty won't scare anyone. Additionally, the states simple don't have the resources to monitor and enforce it. They would need federal help, which smacks of a Marshall law scenario that again, I think is unlikely it would be tolerated.

I'd really like to know what the current enforcement policies are in Kansas & Missouri. If you know of any specific, please post.
