The Kansas City service industry has suffered devastating job loses and economic hardship over the past few weeks but that hasn't stopped nasty Internets piggies from nitpicking about the quality of their food & service.
To wit . . .
LOCAL SOCIAL MEDIA DENIZENS NOTICE MORE NASTY REVIEWS FROM FRUSTRATED CUSTOMERS DEMANDING BIGGER PORTIONS AND FASTER SERVICE DESPITE THE IMPACT OF THE CONRONAVIRUS PANDEMIC!!!
Note from a local worker . . .
"Can't believe how cruel some people can be . . . I can handle bad reviews when things are normal but this is ridiculous. Somebody has to wait a few extra minutes and they imagine that we're being rude. And customers think we're giving away care packages not just trying to do our jobs. They want takeout cartons stuffed like we're their grandma. Sorry but we have haven't changed the sizes one bit . . . It's just ridiculous that some people, not many but more than a few, think this is Spring Break and not a real crisis."
We refuse to call attention to any of these nasty reviews but a recent report from KCTV5 hinted at local restaurant trouble keeping up with increased volume with fewer staffers.
Meanwhile, the NEXTGEN and Millennials are being unfairly targeted as selfish because of a few high profile creeps.
TKC hot take that deserves a moment of contemplation for Sunday morning . . .
People who write nasty restaurant reviews about the quality of takeout during the coronavirus crisis might be dealing with their own stress but they're attacking the wrong people. KC restaurants and bars that remain open are risking their biscuit to earn a living and the last thing they need are petty complaints from self-centered foodies. We can only hope others call out this unfair restaurant criticism. Just a bit of patience for mixed up orders or wait times is the VERY LEAST locals can sacrifice to try and rescue the worsening Kansas City economy.
You decide . . .
Notice this more in Brookside. It's always hard to serve this area but now they're being very demanding.
ReplyDeleteThere's one part of this post that makes sense. EVERYONE is stressed and taking out their complaints on a waitress or a server is the easiest thing.
But it needs to stop since we're less than one week into it.
First world problems for sure.
Deleteit's way worse in Joco. All of the Beckys and Karens are stuck at home with their husbands and kids going crazy. Or crazier. Dealing with those women is hard in good times when things turn rough, they get even more vicious.
DeleteIt's reminds me of those emergency calls to police when somebody forgets their fries.
^^^ +100
ReplyDeleteBecky and Karen can’t have their wild affairs with the delivery man while daddy is home!
ReplyDelete^^^And yet you're an idiot. Weird.
ReplyDeletePlus Becky and Karen can’t get their kids to the babysitter, get their hair done, nails too, go to lunch and then shopping and now you expect them to cook, clean and take care of the kids too? Are you out of your freakin mind!!!!
ReplyDelete9:29 was for 9:28 #1.
ReplyDeletewhere are these reviews. Each review has a name associated with it. It would be strange for someone to react so childish right now and have their name posted next to their selfish thoughts.
ReplyDeleteUm that's actually the norm in un-self-aware TrumpyLand.
DeleteThe google reviews have always been nasty. Can't wait till Yelp reviewers get slammed for their disgusting reviews too.
ReplyDeleteWell, @9:31, it worked for both of them.
ReplyDeleteThe second @9:28's boyfriend is a Delivery Driver, and @9:28 gets off when his boyfriend describe all the sexual encounters he ha while he's doing @9:28!

ReplyDeleteQ: What do you call a discriminating diner who expects their pig-in-a-blanket order to be high-class?
A: The WURST!!!
I had the best takeout the other night from local Raytown Mexican restaurant. I saw no difference in size of portions. It was packed well with all condiments. They really did great. Give them a break, they're trying. It's not their fault you can't handle staying at home with the kids you made and now have to be around 24/7.
ReplyDeleteAgree with 10:53. I have ordered carryout from several local restaurants and feel that they are going above and beyond to try to keep business afloat. Thanks food service workers! I hope things get better for you soon.
ReplyDeleteToo many people eat out.
ReplyDeleteI’ve had take out from the German restaurant Affare downtown, and it was fantastic. Have had two other meals and both were wonderful. I’ll keep supporting our local restaurants... and tipping them, too, for packing everything nicely and being friendly and greatly appreciative.
ReplyDeleteAnd you obviously have an agenda. It’s easy to sit at home and post comments like that to stir up something that fits your agenda. Your more than racist and part of the problem.Try to look at it from a different perspective all things considered. Nevertheless, most likely Trump will be re-elected.
ReplyDeleteHahaha are you trying to reason with cultists?
DeleteOne only has to look at many of the comments made on this blog to understand how there is people who would make nasty comments and reviews about take out food.
ReplyDelete12:09, A huge thanks in proving what Dave just said is true.
ReplyDeleteI am glad that so many restaurants are adapting, and I hope this crisis is over soon so that everyone can get back to work. I am grateful that we can afford take out/delivery because lots of people can't.
ReplyDeleteI have been amazed over the past 2 weeks with the adaptability of the American citizens, businesses, and workers., This pandemimic is terrible, but people are making do. Those who cannot adapt are always with us. They want everything "just the same" all the time, no matter what, no matter how many people have to suffer.
I am grateful that so many people are stepping up to help, to innovate, and to make things a little better in just little ways (Christmas lights, extra phone calls to check on folks, a wave and smile from a neighbor).
I just got an email from our insurance company, Aetna, about free delivery of our medications, faster ordering intervals in order to have an adequate supply, waiver of co pays for virus related tests, etc. Dozens of people are sewing or fabricating masks for health care workers and coming up with better and cheaper techniques to produce respirators and medical tests, and people are sharing all kinds of great resources for families with kids out of school.
Not matter how long this situation lasts, it is still temporary. I hope that the good things that I see happening are not.
Anyone that leaves a bitchy restaurant review during this crisis deserves to have fast food chains as the only food service places open when this is over. The problem is, all of us will be stuck with the same.
ReplyDelete1:01, excellent comment.
ReplyDeleteMy neighbor is a nurse. Yesterday, after work, she mowed our lawn for us, because, as a nurse, she understands that we are not able to do it ourselves, anymore.
As an added bonus, she updated us on the conditions at the local hospitals. Exactly as you would imagine, not good.
And why the fuck cant you mow?
DeleteAside from the fact that you are a lazy burden on the system, get up off your ass and mow your grass you lazy fuck, that nurse just busted her ass and you have the nerve to just let her do shit for you,you are worthless!
^^^^No you're just to lazy to mow and besides you have no yard to mow as you live in an apartment paid for by those of us still working, so stop with the lying.
ReplyDeleteWhy doesn't McDonalds provide ketchup with french fries when you order carryout ?
ReplyDeleteThen when u ask for ketchup they give you 20 packets of ketchup and shoot an extra load of special sauce in your Big Mac.
I get lot of pussy when I go to Cracker Barrel. I would give Cracker Barrel a good review.
ReplyDelete^^^^ Yes, @4:48, the Cracker Barrel Gift Shop DOES have a wide selection of Stuffed Kitten Toys as a reasonable price.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that you can find additions to your collection.

ReplyDeleteHow to get laid in Johnson County, Kansas...
Wrap your wiener in Dough!
"...because, as a nurse, she understands that we are not able to do it ourselves, anymore." From past posts, I gather that you are not much older than 65. Most people in that age bracket CAN mow their own lawns, especially if, as I suspect, your lawn is not very large. You are just too lazy and way to whiny to do it for yourselves.
ReplyDeleteTo the owners and Franchise owners of restaurants, their cooks and serving staff and those who clean the stores.....Thank You. Times will get better, hang in there.
ReplyDeleteCorvid-19 might teach the Millennial Generation some reality on how life really works, its not fair, its not easy, sadly the only millennial's who will learn from this Virus are those young people who are in the front lines in Healthcare, EMS, Fire services, law enforcement and a few other occupations, Great respect for the young people working the front lines, I just hope they can teach their friends who dont, who think life is owed to them. Times have just changed for every generation alive.
ReplyDeleteAnd then there is Buffy the high maintenance drama queen .YOU better make sure there is enough Russian Dressing. r
