KCPD ADVISE: CALL 911 ON COPS RANDOMLY CHECKING ESSENTIAL BIZ DURING CORONAVIRUS LOCK DOWN!!!
KCPD social media offers the public recourse against officers AND IMPERSONATORS using the coronavirus crisis to invade privacy.
"We have heard reports that people are being stopped by police and asked for paperwork to determine whether their business being out is essential. KCPD officers should NOT be doing this. If this happens to you, call 911 immediately."
"Legit officers may still ask you where you're going during the course of a normal traffic stop like they always have, but we are not asking for papers or stopping people just because they're out driving."
Another important note: "We're also concerned about police impersonators."
