KC PARKS: COMMUNITY CENTERS SHUT DOWN OVER CORONAVIRUS CONCERN!!!



The latest precaution from City Hall and a vital resources cut back with students now out of school . . . Take a look:

A message from Kansas City, MO Parks and Recreation

Dear KC Parks Patrons,

The health and wellness of our patrons and staff is always a top priority at Kansas City, MO Parks and Recreation. To follow the recent CDC’s (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) guidelines and in accordance with its recommendation that large events and mass gatherings organizers (whether groups or individuals) cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 10 people or more throughout the United States for the next 8 weeks, KC Parks is implementing the following:

- Effective today, all KC Parks Community Centers, Museums and the like will be closed to the public through April 4, 2020. Parks will remain open 5 a.m.-Midnight.

- Spring Break Camp will continue as scheduled this week.

- Events of more than 10 attendees will not be permitted In our parks/facilities until after May 15, 2020.

Membership, program, room rental and activity fees will be refunded. Please contact Vickie Richard for details at Vickie.Richard@KCMO.org.

KC Parks takes our responsibility to patrons and employees very seriously. As such, we are actively monitoring the situation and will implement additional changes as needed to ensure a high level of safety for all. For more information, please visit kcmo.gov.

    Oh terry, or big bird as those in parks and rec call her is way behind the curve, the rest of the city has already announced their shut down plans, she must’ve been asleep the last week or so and finally woke up and reacted. What about the zoo by the way?
