Kansas Rep. Sharice Davids Vs. Challenger Amanda Adkins On Coronavirus Response
There are some distinct differences betwixt the incumbent and the contender on the sordid topic of COVID-19 response in Kansas as new quarantine orders and more closings are mandated.
Here are both opinions on the crisis that will likely impact the Kansas congressional contest . . .
Davids Statement on Coronavirus Test Reductions in Johnson County
"The science is clear: the best way to prevent the spread of this virus is to make sure those who have it are aware and can act to protect themselves and others around them. The Trump Administration’s failure to lead on this is now forcing Kansas to take away tests from the areas that need it most. With the greatest number of coronavirus cases in Kansas being in Johnson and Wyandotte Counties, our community needs more tests, not less, and we need them now. I’ll keep pushing for this Administration and the Governor’s office to prioritize the health and safety of the Third District."
And then . . .
COVID-19 “Coronavirus” Statement From Amanda Adkins:
"I am running for Congress to support citizens like you and healthcare providers responsible for managing your health and that of your family. As the number of COVID-19 cases in the United States continues to rise, now more than ever the American people don’t want politics they want leadership and clear direction.
"I have spent more than 15 years working on health management in the United States, and believe the nation needs a three-point COVID-19 response plan that focuses on:
- Improved detection;
- Risk mitigation; and
- Supply chain management.
"Now is the time for all of us to have compassion for those suffering in our country and to be thankful for the sacrifice made by our providers on the front line. Together, our strong country will make it through this difficult time."
