Kansas City Northland Spewing Report

Here's life across the bridge bursting with excitement and KCMO infrastructure neglect on a smaller scale . . . Take a peek:

100K gallons of surprise water spew from Northland family's sump, floods yard

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- We haven't had heavy rain for a while, but a Northland family's yard has been flooding for days. Their sump pump has spewed out more than 100,000 gallons of water. Lena Morris and her husband were enjoying a family night at home last Wednesday when they heard an unusual sound.

  1. Really, Gov't did not handle a situation like you wanted?? But the answer is more Gov't, right? - not accountability, efficiency, ethical behavior in the existing Gov't, but just more Gov't. Why doesn't the Gov't just employ us all, that should solve the problem.

And here is a hint: call your insurance company.

  2. It's so much better to be employed inside a corporate government Corporation.

  3. 7:30 good points for sure but in this case this is city drinking water undermining their house and as usual the city isn’t going to fix the problem they created until the house sinks into the ground and disappears. The city is trying to blame another persons water line for this when in reality hundreds of thousands of gallons of water can’t flow out of a 3/4” water line, the problem is a main line somewhere them black boys standing around their trucks aren’t smart enough to find, because...... it’s friday that’s why, they only work half the day on Friday and still get paid for a full day..... water dept. tradition people.

  4. 8:06, to disagree, from the (puddle-deep) reporting it is not clear the source of the water. Of course this is the last we will hear of it, no follow-up story, only the initial 'shock' that Gov't has not been responsive. My point is we need better, not bigger Gov't.

  5. More bike lanes would have helped. Also, the impending raise in water rates is due to your calls for help. KC doesn't have time for this petty stuff. Come on down to Power & Light for some relief from anxiety, or attend Westport this evening for fun.

  6. 9:40 water was rested and found to be drinking water, the water dept then blamed another owner for a broken water line, it was on the news this morning and the article says the same thing so...
