KANSAS CITY NATIVE AMERICAN ADVOCATES EXPLAIN 'STOP THE CHOP' MOVEMENT DESPITE CHIEFS' FANBOY INTOLERANT INSISTENCE!!!

Culture war highlighted by The Pitch offers the latest missive on a debate that's been going strong for at least 30 years.

Over the past few years Chiefs fans have toned down their Native American mockery but "The Chop" remains a backward legacy that history will undoubtedly condemn.

Here's one of many reason's why . . .

For many Kansas Citians, rooting for the Chiefs isn't really an option. How does it evolve to a place where they all feel comfortable?

Illustration by Jack Raybuck We won. What do we do now? Well, we've got some power here to make big changes. Long overdue changes. This is the time to make said changes. "They use our people as mascots," says Gayle Crouser, Executive Director of the Kansas City Indian Center, and who is Standing Rock Sioux.

  1. Really look forward to some old, crusty, broke, angry white man explaining why everyone should indulge his racism when it never helped get him ahead in life.

I don't know why the chunky mexican running this blog pretends to care. Seems like he's way more interested in photo shopped Instagram "hotties" than sports.

    All very gross.

People with any amount of don't do the chop. The ones who do are just admitting they're trash.

  3. To the best of my knowledge, scalping involves a horizontal cutting and slicing movement rather than a vertical chop. Instead of calling it a
tomahawk chop, call it a karate chop!
I'm sure the Japanese folks won't mind. Shoot they and other martial
artists would probably be proud. Problem solved!

  4. How about morph it into shoving a finger up the nose and making a dufus face?

  5. Who cares what inbred Chiefs fans do. There mouths are just cockholders for Messrs. Hunt and Mahomes. Avg IQ about 70.

Leave them alone and let them chomp all they want.

  6. Still not as offensive as the "drunken" Fighting Irish mascot

  7. 3:05, the tomahawk was not used in scalping at all. Only a knife. The warrior would grab a knot of hair, cut around it and then pull it from the scalp. People did survive scalping, not that they especially wanted to.

The tomahawk chop does not degrade American Indians. First, not all tribes used it - primarily the Eastern and Plains Indians. Second, it took a lot of guts to attack an armed opponent with a tomahawk. It reinforces General Sheridan's observation that the Plains Indians he fought against were the best one-on-one fighters on the planet. The chop is frivolous fun, but it does not lampoon the Indian so much as admire him.

Of course the usual suspects quoted in the Pitch story say the same thing. They wouldn't be quoted otherwise. Their function is not to give their opinion, but to affirm the identity centered opinion of the Pitch editors. But there is nothing in the story that says they speak for their respective tribes, and it is doubtful that they do. Lat's wait to hear from the actual tribal leaders before even considering the question.

    1. Who would name a sports team after something you mock? Teams are named after symbols of strength.

  8. There is a reason the Indians were called "savages".

    ReplyDelete
  9. ^^^ that reason was racism.

The small pox blankets that helped to exterminate them was just as savage. Shame on you for defending genocide. DISGUSTING!

While watching the Super Bowl I heard the "noise" twice, but the cameras never showed the crime.

White men called the natives "dirty savages" because the natives bathed everyday, while the whites thought that was dangerous, & nasty. "Heathens" simply meant that they weren't "God fearing" Christians.

(I've never understood that phrase. Do they really mean afraid of God? You worship someone you're afraid of? Just asking. Mark was brainwashed into the Jesus Cult, but by the time I came along the family had become too dysfunctional for such things. Karen & Eric also have no religion.)

  13. Wrong!!!!!! History will put the chop in the same place it puts the elimination of confederate monuments and the rebel flag, the me too movement, and black lives matter into that drastic McCarthyism era where there was a communist behind every tree! Small groups of special interests always garner immediate support but in the end it looks like the radical component it really is!

    ReplyDelete
  14. ^^^^No it was you who brought the dysfunctional into that family. Also your facts as always can't be proven. Remember you're a bland man you can't see to do any reading. Does Google come with a Braille version?

Oh look Byron heard a noise during a football game, how enlightening. How does a blind man watch a football game?

  15. Sports teams also exploit young African Americans for personal wealth. We should ban all Sports exploiting people of color.

  16. I’ll be honest. I understand what their complaint is. But I just don’t care. After a lifetime of hearing that I, a white guy has to conform to whatever the latest offensive complaint is, I’ve just stopped caring
But I’ll compromise. Instead of the tomahawk chop, we can simulate holding muskets

    ReplyDelete
  17. 4:09, there were no smallpox blankets. That is a myth. The only proposed use of smallpox blankets I've been able to confirm was by Lord Jeffrey Amherst, against American citizens and their Indian allies.

Cite your evidence. Original sources, not Marxist pseudo historians.

    ReplyDelete
  18. History.com first link in google confirms it with quotes from REAL historians. There's no use denying the past that has been well documented: There’s evidence that British colonists in 18th-century America gave Native Americans smallpox-infected blankets at least once—but did it work?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Here's a link to the letters where a British General shows his plan and gets cooperation in the plot:

Yes, White Europeans purposefully infected Native Americans with Smallpox.

    ReplyDelete
  20. ^^^ So it looks like you're both right.

    Dirty british scoundrel!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Only a lot of Europeans were not white. People might study DNA a tid bit more. Watch some DNA you tube results if you want to see how really dumb most people are on their own genetic makeups. Arabs being mostly Jews. African americans with very little African. DNA tends to be more fiction and pick and choose like Warren. Like the blame game tends to select people.

  22. Who gives two shits about Indians or the Chiefs ? Just sayin'

    ReplyDelete
  23. The only thing culturally unique to Native Americans in the Chiefs franchise identity is the use of feathered headdresses by fans. The tomahawk is a battle axe, present in many cultures. The music for the chop is EuroAmerican orchestration not present in Indian culture. Skin war drums are present in most cultures. Arrows and stone heads are present in most cultures. The word "chief" is middle english for a tribal leader in the British isles. War paint was found in many cultures. Notably among the Picts of Scotland, who the Roman's described as wearing blue paint. With only a little thought, the branding can be deftly shifted and any offended Native Americans will need to consult the history books to learn how much of their culture came across the Bering Straits.

  24. You Can't take away Guns You can't stop the Chop. These people have to much time on there hands .trying to control People. Like a communist country .You have two hundred million people in the U.S.That will not be political, correct.
