Kansas City Must Never Forget The Tragedy And Preventable Death Of Caleb Schwab

The doomed and incompetent waterside design reminds us that IT'S AN IMPORTANT AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTION OF FREE SPEECH AND LOCAL MEDIA TO EXPRESS SKEPTICISM AGAINST HYPE and question the best laid plans that are broadcast by way of presser copy but rarely meet with serious scrutiny until it's too late.

Here's a worthwhile roundup and reflection . . .

The tragic death of Caleb Schwab at Schlitterbahn Water Park

Ah, horrific accident on a world famous amusement park ride turned a fun family outing into a day of tragedy. Years later, the community hopes to finally have some closure. In 2014 Schlitterbahn amusement park opened Veru KT, the world's tallest waterslide, meaning insane in German, Veruca stood over 17 stories tall and had a 60 degree drop that accelerated riders to nearly 70 miles per hour.

  1. Yes and how we sue the hell out of everyone and remove any liability from the Parents. Typical Politician response. Like it or not. A major business is gone form the area and it's entirely the fault of them. Typical American lack of Parenting as well.

  3. What are they going to do with that giant albatross? Marinovich was not well liked because she did not put up with bullshit. She would have been pissed about how poorly that deal went down.

  5. How can we ever forget when the media brings it up often on slow news days. Let the kid rest in peace.

  6. 7:19 some extremely dumb posts are made to this page and yours is one of the dumbest in its history. Congratulations, that is really saying something.

  7. How come Worlds of Fun has been allowed to stay open? Tracy only went nuts over it because it was about a jewish boy. If it had been a black kid from the dotte the slide would still be there and opened for business. When a jewish kid with a father in office gets hurt or killed all hell breaks loose.

  12. What got lost in the ongoing dialogue about this is, the Building Codes people at the Unified govt. were the ones who demanded a net overhead and from what was reported, more or less suggested the design that was built. That design kept the poor kid from flying out into certain death but also removed his head. There was enough incompetence to go around to all parties involved.
