Kansas City MLK Tribute Redux

Actually had to go into the code to clean up this sloppy headline . . . Here's public radio putting in very little effort for their listeners:

Voters Want To Return To The Paseo, So Kansas City Set Its First Hearing On Alternate MLK Tribute

Kansas City parks officials asked for suggestions on how to honor the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. after voters decided in November to reverse the renaming of Paso Boulevard after the slain civil rights leader. Now the Kansas City Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners has more than 600 emailed suggestions on what should bear the King name.

Comments

  1. Fix up the park that already has his name on it and call it done.

  2. Sorry, 8:25, your idea is too simple and makes too much sense for KCMO’s leadership.

  4. All three comments are right, of course, but there are a couple other big problems with improving the park.
The idea didn't come from the "right east side leaders".
So there's not much chance of a few of the usual suspects cashing in as "consultants or contractors".
East side "projects" are generally designed to convert tax money into thin air.

  5. that "city council" and anyone responsible for this "cluster fuk" should be made to pay for it....

  6. The only suggestion that will count is the one the race baiting reverends will make. And that's more like a command than a suggestion.

  7. Not more meeting for KC Tenants to attend. Of course they cannot afford rent; none of them work. Attending public meetings and harassing the other attendees isn't work.

  8. Why do anything? Why do you think we have to name anything after him; there is already a national holiday so LET IT BE!!!!!
