Kansas City, Missouri, police are asking for help to locate people who might have been involved or witnessed a Sunday morning shooting in Kansas City, North, just west of Liberty. A 19-year-old girl was shot and dozens of rounds were fired in the incident.

8600 Northeast 111th Street is NOT in "The Northeast", it's in the far northern part of KCMO, almost in Liberty.

You're right, of course.
But that what you get when you fire all the experienced reporters because your bank account is sucking air so you hire kids right out of J-school who don't know the difference between Johnson County in Kansas and the one in Missouri.

I actually complained online to KSHB about the "northeast Kansas City" phrase. I was told that "northeast is also a direction". I responded, "if confusion is your goal, go for it."
