Church catches fire at 9th and Troost in KCMO

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A church located at 9th Street and Troost Avenue caught fire Friday morning. The fire happened just before 6 a.m. Kansas City, Missouri, firefighters said that no one was injured. They appeared to have the fire under control fairly quickly. The same church caught fire and suffered serious damage in August 2018.

  1. I believe that is the former First Church of Christ Scientists (Christian Science) that is at 9th and Forest. It once was a magnificent church around the turn of the century - the previous century - in the heart of the city's upper middle class. I attended that church in the early 1950s as a small child.

  4. 1:59 permits for getting rid of it were pulled according to the city about a month ago so.....
