KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- 9ine Ultra Lounge, the Kansas City nightclub that closed after a deadly shooting in January, will reopen Saturday night. The owner is also now speaking publicly for the first time since the shooting that left two people dead, 25-year old Raeven Parks and 29-year-old suspect Jahron Swift.

  1. Terrible news. Sadly, it's already an area in steep decline. These type of businesses are allowed to embed and basically finish things off. We hope that the surrounding businesses object vigorously to this trash. It's another nightmare waiting to happen.

  5. Oh yeah. Shootings, disturbances, murders, a "business" that has drastically monopolized police resources. WHO would insure this place....or ARE they sufficiently insured to begin with? Who monitors this club to ascertain that there are no lapses in coverage? SHUT IT DOWN!

    Exactly. All "Maudes" unite!

From the City of Kansas City website:

I think that all these folks have a valid concern. That type of business and all the issues that it has caused is inconsistent with the type of development that we need to see in that area. First and foremost, innocent people DIED. Their families are sentenced to a lifetime of mourning. Additional security would perhaps be only be marginally effective, and the fact that they're adding all that security underlines that these businesses some rather compelling issues and that they DON'T need to be located in densely populated suburbia,in our opinion. And don't discount the "rolling" issues that may emanate from those "clubs". This club needs to GO.

  8. Hey great. More goons raised on rape and murder propaganda, heavily armed and untrained, with no impulse control and an IQ one standard deviation below the mean, all fucked up on cheap booze and drugs and competing over females!

    More headlines to come folks!

  9. "Who the f*ck is Maude anyway you dumb ape?"

Aw, come on! Can't we just agree to agree?

This is one "bid-ness" that needs to be shuttered.

    Get down to work, denizens.

Some people could only aspire to this.

At least you're being charitable. ;-)

  11. Re-opening the 9ine Ultra is good for Westport. Some of the criminals will go to the 9ine.

  12. Westport, Ultra, great hip hop pest control venues.

  13. "Westport, Ultra, great hip hop pest control venues."

We don't see anything under "control". That's the issue. If we mindlessly allow these "clubs" to proliferate, it's on us.

If "Ultra" was strictly all clown time with the ridiculous outfits, print/web material and whatnot, they could have at. But people tend to get hurt. That's unacceptable.

You're almost there. It should read:

"Desperate property owners rent to these types of businesses..."

You need to voice your concerns to the property owner and leasing company, as well as to the City of Kansas City.
