  1. They should have done this before today. Hope smart people stayed far away from this event.

    1. That assumes a lot about Kansas City. The mayor should have suggested more than hand-washing and taken a leadership position.

  24. Human stupidity is a bigger threat to planet then the virus itself.

  25. The huge problem is : alot of people have health issues they are not aware of. They think they are "healthy" - but they aren't. Some people have not had a physical in years. They look good. They feel good. But they are in bad shape. How many young people suddenly without warning "die in their sleep" at night - even athletes. Well its because they had a unidentified problem. A virus will trigger their health weaknesses. This virus could. Many people diagnosed with cancer for the 1st time are flabergasted - they say I have never had cancer before! So true - but it "developed". Just like other health problems. Many people under 40 have unknown health issues this virus could set off. So its safest to cancel public events for now.

I see a lot of frustration but overall this is a positive step. It shows kansas city is taking the threat seriously and wants people to be safe. This was right right thing to do.

  28. Kansas City didnt shut down the public tourney. They wanted it to take place. The basketball officials closed the door on spectators. Basically to protect the players and the valuable coaches. Imagine if the coaches were sick or even died.

  29. I've posted this sentiment before. What we think of as "money" (as in "money talks, bullshit walks") is dead. Its been dying steadily for 50 some years. Ever wonder why huge corporations with billions to lose don't side with their consumer base on issues ? It's because their (seemingly suicidal) public stance is backed up by a bigger system that supersedes what most people think of as "money". So, if you think the folks that are canceling all of 2020 are doing it altruistically, look at all they have stood for in the past. Their acquiescence to the agenda will be repaid through a strange mixture of traditional insurance or out and out government payoffs, which in both cases, the working class cover. Do you really think they give a rats ass what happens to anyone but those in their immediate circle ? Are we supposed to believe the same people who told us that the biggest problem in the world are the white middle class Americans, who go to work-pay taxes-trust God and his word-they are the cause of the world's oppression ? Those who rant on these "class-issues"- struggling with unemployment, high rent, unable to screw runway models, living with STDs, alcoholism, reliance on immune- suppressant anti-psychotics (Prozac), smokers, shit-based diets based on the principles of Captain Crunch-they will now get what they wanted-actual victimhood ! Who is left that will bite the big turd sandwich ?. NBA, NCAA, NFL, CBS, Amazon, all will fugazi things so Joe Sickfuck will pay the price in the end. I don't mind as much if Joe Sickfuck dies cuz his immune system is compromised by that "awesome tat" he got last week, but it does piss me off that the global media will still paint the pic that our #1 threat to peace and prosperity is the red neck 200 lb Alabama truck driver, while the real enemy will kill 140,000 people while being less than the size of a pinhead and weighing in at a 1/32 of an ounce. So if anything good comes of this, it will be realizing that life is fragile and short. Don't fuck with it by killing it in the womb, sticking your dick where wisdom 6000 years ago told you it don't belong, don't live like a drugged drunken shithead, eat right, and don't believe anyone who tells you otherwise. If you bought all their crap for the last 50 yrs, then you can believe em when they tell you your gonna die 40 yrs before your time cuz , well-"you were stupid enough to believe us for the last 50 yrs.

  30. The GOP has cultivated a large group of people that don't believe in science and deny facts and reality.

No climate change is occurring despite world wide temperature data and monitoring of shrinking ice caps and glaciers.

Skip vaccines because they cause autism. That and the risk of small pox or measles is too small to care about.

Some even believe mass shootings are false flag operations and simply didn't happen

Why would a pandemic be any different? A significant group of people in this country are beyond reason. Everything is a conspiracy, hoax, or deep state attack. It's why this country can no longer function. They elected a president that is completely incapable of leading in this crisis and still won't even accept basic facts about how pandemics unfold. He doesn't understand it and doesn't care enough to learn.

Sorry, but this virus affects everyone, whether you choose to accept that fact or not. It's not just a problem for people over 70 with medical problems. There is no treatment. There is no vaccine.

Fatality rates go up for each age group over 50. For those over 80 it's especially dangerous, but all age groups have deaths. Underlying health issues is a separate risk factor. All age groups with existing medical problems are at a higher risk of death. If older and have medical problems that's 2 separate high risk factors coming together. Those are all medical facts, documented by case histories.

All age groups have over 15% infected needing hospitalization. Happy talk about a mild illness and getting better is not what the president needed to say. He needed to prepare this country for what's coming and he failed again.

This country is in for a world of hurt. With infected people spreading it before showing symptoms and 14 day delay between infection and onset of symptoms, every case found today was transmitted up to 2 weeks ago. We will only know how much is spreading currently in the future, 2 weeks from now. There is no plan to get masks needed for workers. No plans for temporary hospitals and equipment. No plans to cover the uninsured.

We don't know who to avoid since we still can't test at any meaningful level. There will be an unprecedented level of anger that eventually will be directed at this administration for their utter incompetence in responding.

  31. Agree with most of what 3:29 says as far as the impact- but again disagree with blaming the cause or lack of alarm on rightwing philosophys. Those who elected Trump are not anti-vaxes and 9/11 variety wackos conspiracies- they are the ones who DONT get gov assistance, DONT believe in universal healthcare ( its just not a human right) DONT believe perversion should be normalized, DO believe that "tolerance" has led us down the road to tolerating the "intolerable" etc, etc, Strange how your post accusing the traditional thought of the right as being somehow responsible for this mess, affirms what I was saying about the butt-fucking minions who will suffer the greatest losses and will use that to yet further their hateful agendas.

  32. The Democratic party has cultivated all young people and those whose brains died at 14 yrs to believe that anyone who is not on board with butt fucking and killing babies is an evil, unrational, ultimately outdated threat to the modern principles of the enlightened Lady Gaga and Barack Obama. Because the Dems own Grandfathers were men of decency and sound principle, they are watching Dr. Who and working with Harvard philosophers to create a time machine to go back and kill their ancestors or at least assign them the GOP status (post mortem) as having been anti-slavery. Instead of sticking so fookin hard to something you think sounds virtuous or gets you laid at college parties, why don't you really do some insight into old old ways of looking at things ? But I guess that won't let you take it in the ass with a guilt free conch, will it ?
