My love for newspapers and my fear for their future
My mom used to tell the story of how at the age of two or three, I was looking at a cracker box and asked what those funny things on the box were. The funny things were words. From that point on, I developed a fascination for words.
Journalism Schools became hotbeds of left-wing Communist ideology. Newspapers tried to push this ideology and Americans were not buying it. Thus, no more newspapers.

ReplyDeleteI grew up like the writer did. I loved newspapers. Read them every day with relish. Coffee and the paper. Yes! But then the Star slowly but surely went to hell and I canceled home delivery. That was a big deal to me that the Star was so bad that i would stop reading papers. but at the same time the internet came along and Drudge.
ReplyDeleteBack in the early 90's in Waldo where we lived then, the nearby grocery store parking lot saw repeated armed robberies of customers. I was there when one happened. I called the Star to complain about no coverage. They told me they would only publish an article if it was something out of ordinary. Well, right then I knew they were not a "news" paper. They will NOT be missed. They failed to tell the public important information (That Tony's KC does)that would have changed a number of things but did not. Go away Star. Fast
