Pit Bulls Stay Winning In Prairie Village

Breed bans fall out of favor around the metro and now responsible owners have more freedom for these sometimes intimidating but mostly lovable puppers. Checkit:

Prairie Village repeals pit bull ban

PRAIRIE VILLAGE, KS (KCTV) -- The Prairie Village City Council has voted to repeal their ban on pit bulls. The vote took place on Monday night after a debate that lasted about an hour. We first reported about pit bull owners hoping the city would repeal the ban back in 2016.

And then when a pit bull attacks someone they will go into panic mode like they did when they put the ban into effect several years back. Prairie Village, a great place to stay the hell away from.

This is great, i can walk my pitty at the park in PV, show off my tats, and pick up young chicks to party with.

This is discrimination against young children. Their value was discounted by the city council. Pitbull owners were made to be more important.

Be prepared now to kill any pit bull who starts acting out in any way around children.

A bad on certain breeds should have never existed. Dogs aren’t bad - people are.

The Pet Project has all the pitbulls you could ever want. Please come get them. Then maybe we here in KCMO can actually get some animal control services. Hope your kids faces don't get mauled by our ghetto-raised dogs. Fucking idiots !

^^^^ gas all pit bulls in the Project. End this thing.

And, as an extra provision for PV residents, if your pit bull is gay, the city council has outlawed conversion therapy.
Always putting those progressive priorities on the top of the list.

Yep and go to all the shelters to see the responsible Pit Owners . Since about 90 percent of all Shelter dogs are Pit /Pit crosses.

PV appreciates the all the advice from Frogville residents and suggests that you might limit the toilet planters to no more than two per trailer lot.

Fact: Pit bulls injure and kill more people than any other breed. Why raise the level of danger in your environment if you don't have to? The "it all depends on the owner" argument is B.S.

A lot of the people showing up at the City Council meeting to ask that the ban be dropped didnt even live in Prairie Village. They gave their addresses, some lived in Lawrence Kansas. So what business do they have telling PV what to do? They arent even citizens of PV. Well they claimed they "would have" moved to P.V. if there was no pitbull ban (they own a pitbull). But the truth is, unless you can afford a $400,000 to $1,500,000 house then you CANNOT move there. Many of them gave their job descriptions and there is no way they earn enough to live in PV. They were just unpaid lobbists for the shelters trying to get rid of their pitbulls. Many work in shelters and described the dogs as gentle. They have no intention of moving to PV. They just dont want to see the dogs put to sleep if nobody adopts them. Even a proposal to require owners to have insurance, good fencing, dangerous dog signs and muzzles in public failed. So a child will be ripped to shreds and die soon. Then the pit bull supporters will say it the owner's fault - but what if the owner is a top business exec living in a 2 million dollar house? That wont fly. Even a ER doctor begged them not to allow pitbulls. A lady who owned one, and it attacked her, she begged not too allow them. But the City council ignored a owner bitten by her own dog. The city council members who voted to drop the ban will be replaced at the next election and then the ban will go back in force. Plus the city will be sued for the death of the child. The kid may belong to a millionaire's family - it will be a huge lawsuit and the council members will be responsible for the death. Everyone knows pitbulls are dangerous.

@1:55, pits are literally bred "bad dogs". Unless quick, unprovoked, damaging violence is your thing. PV should make all pit owner's carry a minimum 1mil PLUP, and dogs DNA recorded and tied to that policy.

Well the guys with arms and legs covered in tatoos will move to rental homes in Prairie Village and proudly walk their 2 to 3 Pitbulls on all public sidewalks and around the Prairie Village shopping center. While wearing shorts in the winter to show off their leg tatoos. Then they will have sex with a few naive Shawnee Mission East High school girls and change their lives forever by impregnating them or getting them hooked on meth. Then their Pitbulls will attack and kill other high-end dogs they come across on sidewalks. Oh those owners shall lament the loss of their dogs to the Pitbulls. The a Pitbull will suddenly snap and kill a child, ripping its throat out - on public property! But the pitbull crowd will say they are kind and gentle dogs. There is no end to the stupidity of Jori, the City Council, the Mayor and the lady at the meeting last night that referred to her son who could not live in P.V. (only to later admit it was not her sone it was her pitbull). Death is on the way in Prairie Village. Jori its your fault!

There are over 500 breeds of dogs. if you want to live in a city with a pitbull ban simply select from one of the 499 remaining breeds. Dont put your selfishness, ego, apathy and personal pride of mean dog ownership above the safety of your neighbors. Get a safe dog. There is a reason Prairie Village voted to keep the pitbull ban in 2016. Last night they "forgot" the reason. They will remember when a Briarwood or Corinth student dies.

I saw the meeting online. Over and over, the Pitbull owners stood up and claimed discrimination. But legally, discrimination only apply to people, human beings and they must be in a certain legally set classifications. Even a white male under age 40 cannot file a discrimination lawsuit. He must be over 40, then in a protected category. Animals DO NOT have legal standing or rights like people. And they never will as long as we eat cows, chicken, pork and fish. People do not like Pitbulls, but thats not discrimination. The speakers were not educated enough to realize their mistake. They probably ate at McDonalds that day, and never cared that their cheseburger cost a large mammal its life. It the owners feel discriminated against, they can get another dog and then move to Prairie Village. Dont expect the citizens to make special allowances for your rare pet dog.

Its about time "perfect village" snobs get a taste of the real world and what others less wealthy have to go through each day. Like constantly being on the lookout when you walk out the door for vicious dogs running wild. Watch front, back and sides. Watch just below the bushes as they come around those fast. Close your car door fast, as some dogs have jumped in my car before. Some rich dude is going to end up with a ugly chewed up trophy wife. Then will he trade her in for a pretty one? I often wondered what it would be like to go out in my yard and not have to worry about someones dog. Now the "pretty village' people just lost that feeling! Ha ha ha!

Pitbull owners were discussing discrimination? Discrimination is when people cant get housing, jobs, insurance, car loans, promotions and are screamed at because they are of a different color. It has nothing to do with a dog. These people are stupid and playing off a word that symbolizes suffering just so they can have a breed of dog?

Hey girls! As soon as the weather warms up I will be bring my pitbulls over to your fine city and walking them in Meadowbrook and Franklin park. Anyone looking for friends with benefits? You women sure look mighty good to me! And my friends too!

In 2013, Farmers Insurance notified policy holders in California that it will no longer cover bites by pit bulls, Rottweilers and wolf-dog hybrids. A spokeswoman for Farmers said that those breeds account for more than a quarter of the agency's dog bite claims.

Well this tells you something. They are in business to make money and identify risks. Pitbills, Rottweilers and wolf bred are only 3% of the dogs in California, but more than 25% of the bite claims! Hum....loveable Nanny dogs? NO WAY = DRUG STASH GUARDS

Agree with 11:07. Ain't nobody got time fo dat.

I'm interested to see how this plays out. i hope there are a lot of do-gooders there to adopt all the pitbulls from the Pet Project. KCMO needs its animal control people back. There are now several roaming dogs, including one pitbull, in my area. Their owners just open the door and let them run. I get tired of always being on guard when I walk my little dog. Come get 'em you fools ! You can have them all.

The only reason people push to remove pitbull bans is to get them adopted from shelters. But why are they 40 to 75% of the shelter dogs to begin with? if they are so friendly and good with kids wouldnt those people keep them? Something doesnt add up. Yes I dont want dogs in shelters put to sleep. But a person dying from a freed pitbull would be worse. They would kill the dog after the attack. So it takes a person with it. At least the police will know who the rif raft is -as they will be moving in with their pitbulls soon. And when a kid dies, the city council will say 1. We didnt know, 2. It was a rare, random attack, 3. It was the owners fault, 4. they are kind dogs so how were we to know this could happen? All easily seen thru excuses. Maybe a pitbull will kill a child in its owners family. the parent would have to live with that forever. the surviving kids would say, it only we had a beagle instead of a pitbull our brother/sister would be here. Didnt you care for us at all. Parents reply : we couldnt afford a new Caddy SUV, so we had to get the dog for prestige reasons, you just dont understand..........

Hey Village Fest on July 4th is going to be gory! Tiny babies mauled by all the pitbulls angered by noise, smell, food, music. They gonna chew a few babies to death! Perfect Vuillage Nightmare

I hope Patrick Mahoomes doesnt live in Prairie Vill. If he got bit and it ruined his career we would be sunk. Course the dog lovers would blame HIM for being around the dog. They never blame the dog. Even though it has a mind of its own. its not like the owners tell the dogs to attack, they just do it suddenly outta blue

My pitty is gonna chew up your little poodle! He eats them alive.

Those stupid perfect village soccer moms are going to have a big surprise whan a pitbull grabs their baby out of a stroller and runs away with it. What are they going to do then, use their $1,800 Apple phone to ask the police to find the dog and return their baby. Those people are stupid to allow pitbulls and they will be sorry (sooner rather than later).

Owned some Pitbulls. They were mean, non-loving, attacked other dogs, rabbits, squirells and gutted them across the yard, and were very dangerous. I got rid of them before something bad happened. Have a very loving poodle now. Pitbulls are the face of death.

I can tell the future : a child under age 12 will be severely bitten by a Pitbull in Prairie Village. The owner will say it was a kind and gentle dog that snapped. They all say that.
