KCPD Already Has 'Local Control' Now Politicos Demand City Council Management

We like the fight for naming this disaster given that "city hall management" is something NOBODY would support . . . Meanwhile, the police board is comprised COMPLETELY FROM LOCALS. Here's another round-up:

Local or state control? Study to examine possible KCPD change

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - With Kansas City, Missouri, averaging a homicide almost every two days in 2020, the City Council voted on Thursday to approve a study looking into whether or not the police department should be locally controlled.

  1. Local control is the only way to stop the out of control payroll, it’s the only reason the police dept wants to keep state control because the outrageous pay they get.

Remember people, the average annual salary for officers is $94,000, that’s not including management, and that’s about ten grand more than fire and about twice as much as regular city employees. It’s a free for all at kcpd when it comes to money..... and they’re not held accountable for anything.

    1. Clueless doesn't even begin to describe your idiotic post. Nothing in it is even CLOSE to being accurate.

    2. I'd like to know your source of information. Even IF the Police made $10k more than Fire, is that a problem? Consider that Fire averages 30% of their service time in the rack and the majority of calls are for EMS. The Cops are working their entire shift.

Go ahead, Cop haters, share how lazy the Cops are. They will still be who you want to see first when you're in a pinch. If not, summon Fire, they certainly have more time (unless they are shopping for tonight's grilling).

  3. It's obvious that the Mayor and city counsel are not doing anything right, they can't even keep the streets in good enough shape to drive on, and they have tied the hands of the police due to racism and don't have near enough police to cover the city streets. So YES they should be under state control.

This is just broke ass KCMO trying to create a desperate narrative which would allow them to have access to the funds to funnel to developers. City is bankrupt but hasn't made the public announcement. The red Star parent company beat KCMO into bankruptcy by a few days.

  7. No police officer working for the KCPD has an annual salary of $94,000. You should review MO State Statues.

  9. The above statement is correct. With overtime the KC PD does in fact early well in excess of $100,000 annually. The city is going bankrupt paying the un budgeted overtime for police and fire. But yes the above statement is correct, regardless of how much to pay a KC police office, the police officer doesn't work. Feel free to call 911 after 10 minutes the 911 operator answers and after 4 hours the police officer doesn't show up. If you call to check the status the police lie and tell you a cruiser was dispatched.

  10. don't worry 12:22, all the awe-inspiring, vibrant glass walled buildings downtown will keep the town from going bankrupt and carbon neutral!
Then on Wednesdays the council will discuss the failings of police all day, every week.

  11. a segment of a news item on one of our local stations today stated that starting pay for a police officer is $34k. Doesn't seem to be a lot of money to me. Also a lot of officers are not eligible for overtime pay.

  12. Since the city council are merely puppets of the race baiting reverends, "local control" would mean the latter run the KCPD. Result - Baltimore.

  13. Those figures were pulled from union stats, they all know what each other makes so they can base raises off of them.

7:38 & 4:28 ask them if you don’t believe it dumbfucks.

“Cops working their entire shift” that’s funny right there! Only work they do is driving from one convenience store to another for free food.

The cops work eight hour shifts compared to 24hr shifts for fire, you really are stupid aren’t you.

  14. City of Kansas City is operating at a deficit. They dont need to control anything else. This is a money grab
Its best to keep things the way they are until a few more people from the old guard die off. #restinpiecesbiotch
