City wants input on redevelopment of Barney Allis Plaza

City leaders want your input on the future of a large piece of downtown Kansas City, Missouri. They want to bring new life to Barney Allis Plaza. The plaza, which stretches a square city block, currently features a park on top of an underground parking garage between 12th and 13th Streets, and Central and Wyandotte Streets. The city says the space has been underutilized for years, so it's working to "re-imagine" the area.

  1. If the rich get just a bit more of the pie and decide they like land just a little bit more then 70% of us will be homeless.

  3. It's almost certain the developers already presented a shovel ready plan which the city approves but of course we need to get to let the rubes chime in to make the city appear to give a shit about what they think.

  4. How about we "re-imagine" all our streets and tell the downtown clowns to go fuckthemselves.

  5. Yes bulldoze the park green space and put in concrete. Really progressive.

  7. They can't even stop crime or fix the streets. Don't waste your time getting together with the city their mind is already made up, and the construction co that is lucky enough to get the bid gets freebies and so does the mayor. Be more concerned about where your tax dollars are going. I'd say put KC on the list for an audit but the state auditor is corrupt too she's also under investigation.

  8. TOP PHOTO -- IN REVERSE

A wealthy Kansas developer has a proposal pending before the city to build a multi-level parking garage above an underground park and water-slide feature. They just need KC to guarantee financing for the project, blight designation of the current property, 50-year full tax abatement, CID approval, and KC to subsidize the parking garage. It's to be called INFINITE LIGHT PARK!!!
