KC Pet Project Wastes Taxpayer GO BOND Resources Helping Rats & Rodents

Instead of humanely dealing with the aftermath of a recent raid . . . Here's a TAXPAYER FUNDED GROUP wasting their time on vermin rather than dealing with all of the dangerous animals on local streets . . . Take a look:

After taking in 260+ rats, rabbits and more in hoarding situation, KC Pet Project trying to find loving homes

KANSAS CITY, Mo - Some of the more than 260 animals seized from a hoarding situation Monday will be easily adopted out. The rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters taken from a home near East 40th Street and Wabash will go quickly, but there are also 219 rats that need forever homes.

  2. Waste of money?
These rats are cleaner and smarter than the ones that hang out around the 18th & Vine District, and nobody seems to have a problem with the City wasting money there!

  3. Unfortunately, now the public can understand why a "no kill" municipal shelter doesn't work. Socialization from birth is extremely important for pets; be it dogs or cats or rats. Animals not socialized from birth don't make good pets. Handing out the rats to the uninformed pet owners is wrong on so many levels.

  4. Feed those critters to all the hungry pitbulls at the shelter!

  5. KC Pet Project has bullied and bamboozled the City from day one. The City was to pay $14 million in GO bonds for the project; that figure is over $22 million now and will go higher. The City was taken to the cleaners and now we have a palace for an animal shelter and we are paying idiots to run it. Thanks, Roshann and Kristy and the councilwoman who made it possible.

  6. Can I please get an animal control officer to take care of the roaming dogs before you take in some hoarders overbred rats ? KC Pet Project has now had a month to get the animal control problem under control but they are too worried about showing off their brand new facility. Get your shit together and pick up and ticket these roaming dogs before some kid has their faced ripped off.

  7. BS, that money was wasted on two legged rats long before this event!
