Law enforcement groups voice opposition for Kansas bill aimed at increasing transparency in police shootings

TOPEKA, Kan. -- The mother of a metro teen killed by Overland Park police in 2018 wants more transparency and changes in the way officer-involved death investigations are handled. Sheila Albers testified on behalf of Kansas House Bill 2424 on Tuesday.

  1. That cop murdered that young man who was having a mental health crisis. Its a well used cop trick to put yourself in front of a car and then shoot when they try to escape. In a huge number of situations they have more than enough time to remove themselves from danger but stand pat. Unless they are violent felons this tactic is not called for. NEVER call the cops when a family member is in crisis. They just might kill them.
