  1. Turn State Line into MLK blvd so we can keep the johnson county b.s.ers in their own strip malls.

    2. Lots of whites voted no to Paseo bc it should be Main or Broadway or SM pkwy or JC Nichols.

    3. ^^^ Lots of blacks voted NO because the vote didn't follow the city process for street name changes. Stop being a racist twit @8:45. The world isn't as obsessed with negativity as you are.

  2. Here's what we do. Take the suggestion of all the 60-something dirt farmers who post on this blog and then DO THE EXACT OPPOSITE.

The responses should elicit some great contrarian ideas that will unite good people of faith who actually love Kansas City and don't wish for our destruction with every keystroke.

    Think about it.

  3. A majority of the few who still vote, said The Paseo Street Signs should replace MLK Street Signs, and that is what will happen. Those opposed, should study the disgusting history of MLK, instead of acting like stupid sheeple who don't know how to vote, unless Freedom, Inc. instructs their every move.

HA!! SHEEPLE .. A savage listener...

  4. How about taking the current Martin Luther King Junior City Park putting a cultural educational Center based around civil rights. Stop this Fiasco with renaming streets! Think about it

  5. MLK park. Install large metal plates that can be used as chalk boards or for graffiti to write out memories and achievements of the black community. Plus sence the plates would be bulletproof the oark would be a sage haven in the middle of MLK land.

  6. Change the name of Vine to MLK. Or change Arrowhead to MLK Stadium since mostly black on the team. Or how about changing the name of Kansas City to Kingsville that way nobody will think it's in Kansas. Or change Interstate 670 to MLK Memorial Highway and make both KCMO and KCK black residents happy.

  7. How about naming a fat turd in Brush Creek after MLK? That would be appropriate.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Why not name a graveyard after the old man? Just for victims of black on black genocide.

    ReplyDelete
  9. KEEP HOPELESSNESS ALIVE?

KCMO can't let go of their racial divisiveness and forlorn attempts to placate East-side residents by tossing them table scraps.

Ah yes, if only we can come to consensus on the perfect plaque, monument, named park, or street, Black/Brown/White folks can come together, join hands, and sing "We Shall Overcome" in perfect harmony.

Was MLK born/raised in KCMO? No
Did he go to school here? No
Was his wife from here? No
Did he lead a church in KCMO? No
Was his social justice movement centered from KC? No
Did his anti-Vietnam War collaboration include KC? No
Did he ever briefly visit KCMO? Yes

    Oh, well in that case...
I, Quinton "Professor" Lucas, Mayor of Kansas City Missouri, Social Justice Warrior and Liberal panderer to all City petitioners, do hereby declare that "Kansas City" shall henceforth be known as "Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. City."

Oh yeah! This is going to fix everything.

  10. Racists in Kansas City resist honoring MLK because he was a negro.

    1. Nah. We have things named after him already. Why not take the energy that goes into promoting a dead guy and put it toward solving real community problems?

I know, I know. Too much work for fat fake Reverends.

  11. how did cleaver get a blvd before MLK?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Don't do anything for him. If you have to pay the MLK trust to use his name then fuck it. When the time comes where it no longer needs to pay a fee then we can have a conversation about it

  13. The argument that 9:49 makes is very clearly why I don't understand the insanity of local people thinking anymore places need to be named in this area after a man who basically ignored this area his whole lifestyle. Only King was never in Kansas City MO. He did visit in KCK one day for a few hours but that was it. If Cleaver were a quarter of the man he claims to be he'd offer up to have the road named after him to be renamed after King. Ha, fat chance that will ever happen.

  14. I voted no due to the process. Clever, Jolie, Barnes, and J. Reed(MBA) along with the Crooked east side ministers ramrodded this thru the council and ignored the rules and process. I am a life long Democrat who would never vote for any of these guys for any public office.

  15. If only Kansas City (Missouri) had a leader that was black and provided leadership on important issues. Ideally the next mayor elected will be that black leader. Stop blaming the white people please...

  16. Don't bother discussing. The City Council will end up doing whatever their puppet masters, the race baiting reverends, tell them to do.

  17. Rename the part of 18th Street from Paseo to Benton Blvd.

I like 1111's idea too. I would recommend 1111 to submit that suggestion!

  20. The days of needing to name something after mlk are over, there is no need for him to be on anything anymore, those days are over, matter of fact they’ve been over with for about twenty years now.

  21. Clean up the park and fountain named after him. Its a cesspool.

The loud voices from KC are screaming for an MLK St (or Blvd or whatever). I guess the park and fountain dedicated to his name are not good enough. I like the idea of renaming the piece of l8th that runs thru the Jazz District to MLK. That should make those that care a sense of pride, and FaceTime for visitors to the area.

  23. When was the last time anything related to black people was good for Kansas City?

If we can tear down historical statues all over then we don't need MLK stuff either.

MLK's stomping grounds were in the deep south lets keep it down there.

MLK may have had a dream but as we can see his own people will never allow it to happen.

  25. Clever Blvd is a disgrace to the City. Change that Street name to MLK Blvd. I would be willing to bet 70% of KC would vote for this name change...

  26. What the KCrumbling--KCorrupt--KCriminal--KClowntown needs is a well-lit, giant billboard displaying an MLK portrait next to a murder momentum tabulation calendar.

  28. 11:59 makes a good point. MLK has been gone so long that naming something else for him now is just patronizing and weird. You don’t see new schools, streets, etc. named after JFK anymore. It was meaningful at the time, but that has been more than 50 years ago. Time to live in the present and look to the future.

    ReplyDelete
  29. wish MLK were alive to speak out against our endless wars. as for naming streets, it is all filler no killer man who cares. doesn't create any jobs or any development or economic activity no matter who the freaking street named after. most KC residents could not tell you any street or place names meanings. it just doesn't matter. remember Bruce Willis saying "I'm an american honey our names don't mean shit" in the taxi scene in pulp fiction, ah thx radish
