Kansas City Streetcar Fanboys Relentlessly Hype TAX INCREASE TOY TRAIN Extension

This "news" is mostly just a public relations note gleaned from social media. Let's not forget the "folly trolley" ALSO earned this same kind of pat on the back LAST YEAR before they were REJECTED for federal transit funds that have moved away from fixed rail transit.

In fairness, here's they feel-good story:

KSHB: Federal report ‘good news’ for KC Streetcar expansion

Deets:

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Federal Transit Authority released a new report this month that shows good news for future possible funding for the Main Street extension of the KC Streetcar.

KC Streetcar executive director Tom Gerund said Tuesday the report shows the project, which would extend the streetcar line south from Union Station to 51st Street at Brookside Boulevard, “received the highest rating granted” for the category of projects.

You decide . . .

The safest route Is the River Market to Union Station. Don't press your luck going through Midtown. There is so much crime and drug addiction in that area. They will get on the toy train. And flip

Quoting from an article on 41 News website, Children's Mercy is losing city funding support. I agree we need more bike lanes and toy train miles rather than helping this hospital. I guess no taxpayer dollars for developers here.

UN-FUCKING BELIEVABLE!!!!!!!

"KANSAS CITY, Mo. — When Kansas City, Missouri proposed 2020-21 budget is unveiled Thursday, at least one organization will receive half-a-million less than previous years.

The proposed budget calls for a $500,000 reduction in city funding to Children's Mercy Hospital

Since the 2016-2017 fiscal year, the city has adopted in its budget $649,874 in funding for Children's Mercy Hospital.

But for the 2020-2021 fiscal year, the hospital's funding is expected to be $500,000 less.

The mayor's office believes $500,000 is the amount Children's Mercy Hospital pays for the naming rights of Children's Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kansas

The proposal seeks to reallocate the hospital's funding to hire more social workers for the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department."

Oh, Chimpster @6:35, you're a freeloading bum who doesn't pay for anything. Now, stick your ugly head back up your monkey butt, so your shit-for-brains breath won't be polluting the zoo.
