Kansas City NextGen Journalists Accept Progressive Typecast Topic For Their Debut

Kansas City is one of the biggest metro areas in the Midwest, there's a great deal to debate and discuss . . . Sadly, but true to form, this "public" station seemingly encouraged these promising lady reporters to talk about ethnic hairdos.

Blog aside and fair play: TKC has never been really jazzed about KCPT because during a couple of interactions, I always felt like SOME people there wanted to make me "their Mexican" which might have been fun but not really important for our reader community given that this digital publication is about providing an ALTERNATIVE from mainstream discourse that is tragically dominated by identity politics from many sides. But I digress . . .

Here's their story and a just bit of encouragement to not only challenge right-wing haters but also confront the soft bigotry of low expectations often enforced by progressives.

In this episode of “The Filter,” you will hear personal stories, learn what impact a law like this would have on the Kansas City area’s black community and how embedded race-based discrimination is when it comes to natural hair.
