KANSAS CITY MAYOR QUINTON LUCAS RESTORES FUNDING FILM OFFICE AND CHIDREN'S MERCY!!! TROLLING WORKS!!!

Actually a wise decision from the newbie Mayor that has earned him a great deal of community support from increasingly active metro communities.

After Public Outcry, Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas Is Restoring Funding For Arts Programs

Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas is rethinking some of his proposed budget cuts. The budget Lucas announced earlier this month included major cuts to arts, tourism and entrepreneurship programs. But in a letter to the city council late Friday afternoon, Lucas said he will restore funding to the Kansas City Film Commission and Children's Mercy Hospital.

And since we're on the topic of trolling and/or civic activism . . . Given that Martin City effectively bullied the Mayor online for St. Paddy's Day. Here's a glimpse at another Kansas City Internets denizen trying to get the Mayor's attention, posted for Friday night:

  2. Why has a budget process setting priorities and making tough choices?
Just throw all the money into a big pot and hand it out to the whiners who complain the most.
    Or to campaign contributors.
Or to little groups who threaten and intimidate.
Of course, that's exactly how KCMO government actually works!
    It never changes.

  4. Art money and conflict resolution for transitioning teens? Isn’t that what Aim 4 Peace does? The City sure has enough money to throw at bullshit like this and blow 75% of the general fund on “public safety” and give contracts to Council favorites. If we can’t cut crap or Children’s Mercy, who just raised $2.4 million dollars and has many highly-paid executives and stick to those cuts, this administration is just showing no one has a spine. What’s the next bonehead move... restoring the Culture and Creative Services Office??

  6. This budget is full of pork. Needs to be sliced up real nice if KC wants to avoid bankruptcy.
