Kansas City College Students Talk Crushing Debt After 3rd Choice University Life

The city college recently dropped their standards BUT their fees are as high as ever . . . Take a look:

The impact of school debt on UMKC students

When asked about his student debt, Colton Glen's eyes widened. "Yeah, I know how much student debt I have. It's gonna take me forever to pay it off," said Glen, a senior business administration finance major. Glen will soon be facing a bitter reality many UMKC graduates have struggled with after college: paying off student loans.

  1. So make college cheaper by getting rid of the Diversity & Inclusion deans, eliminating grievance studies programs and laying off at least one third of administrators.

  2. Make student loans dischargable in bankruptcy and bring back some accountability in the lending process. There is simply no reason to lend an 18-22 year old huge sums of money to be used with little oversight.

  3. Graduates of trade schools do not have that huge debt load.

  4. That’s what you get when you go to a third rate “college” like umkc, $150,000 and all you get is a liberal arts degree. It amazes me how stupid people are.

  5. Maybe they can find a generous older person.

  6. 11:58: And yet you couldn't get a degree from a third-rate school. Weird.

  7. ^^^^^^^ And yet only an idiot makes a comment they can't in anyway backup. Fact.

So you have a guy who borrows app 130 -150k and spends 4 years incurring other costs to get a degree in philosophy only to have trouble finding a job after graduation that might pay over 60k a year in his first 10 years out of school. Then you have the guy who goes to a 2 year paid apprentice program to be an electrician and is making 80k plus a year over at the dude with the philosophy degrees house turning the power off. Don't need a philosophy degree to understand the smarter career move there.

  9. the reason student loans aren't dischargeable is due to Democrat greedy weasel Law students ..

using their shady "skills' to welsh on their 6 figure student loans the minute they graduated.

  10. Students aren't borrowing the money from the school they attend. They are borrowing it from a hard-ass loan company who will come after them if they don't repay their loans. UMKC is one of the most inept schools around. You're better off going to nursing assistant school where you might be able to get a job after graduation. Oh, and UMKC has been a commuter school for many, many years. At least it was 29 years ago when a friend went there. Go to trade school and get a decent job.

  11. And your experience with UMKC would be... ?

  12. It would be much better if students were borrowing directly from their schools. That way the schools would have enough skin in the game to refuse to lend money to queer studies etc. majors who will have little ability to pay their debts.

  13. College students are subsidizing Athletics, worthless administrators that serve 1% of the student population, exhorbinant faculty salaries, gold-plate retirement plans, President housing allowances; a bunch of crap that has nothing to do with education or obtaining a degree. Colleges quadrupled tuition rates with the advent of Federal Student Loans as they kept giving themselves huge pay raises knowing students would just borrow more money to pay the higher tuition.

  14. If it's FREE it's WORTHLESS!
