Rodents, looters, squatters plague abandoned grocery store

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Rodents, looters, squatters and fire are some of the problems outlined in a federal lawsuit involving a now abandoned grocery store in south Kansas City. The Save A Lot grocery store used to be located at the southeast corner of East 85th Street and Holmes Road.

  2. That area of KC was a very nice middle class section of the city some years ago. The store in question was a Milgram's. Now, that intersection is pawn shops, coin laundry and decaying buildings. I wonder what happened?

  4. The city needs to stop blaming the infrastructure issues on the infrastructure. The city built the infrastructure. New road infrastructure and water infrastructure are failing in 5-10 years due to substandard work and materials. The contractors are the inspectors of the work of the contractors. The 5 year old sewer line in the middle of the street failed after only 5 years, as an example.
