IN BID TO OUST KANSAS REP. SHARICE DAVIDS, ADMANDA ADKINS EARNS NATIONAL GOP 'CONTENDER' STATUS!!!

As the election moves closer, the party lines become clearer . . . Check the latest from this campaign making more news:

ADKINS EARNS “CONTENDER” DESIGNATION BY THE NATIONAL REPUBLICAN CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEE

Overland Park, Kan. – Amanda Adkins, Republican candidate for US Congress in Kansas’ Third Congressional District, has been promoted to a “Contender” in the Young Guns program by the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC).

Young Guns is a program led by House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy and run by the NRCC that identifies candidates across the country who embody the principles of the House Republican Conference and show promise of running a successful campaign. For a candidate to be promoted to “Contender” status means their campaign has met stringent program metrics including fundraising.

This campaign milestone follows the news that Adkins earned the endorsement of businesswoman and philanthropist Susan Pompeo. Adkins also reported in early January that she had raised more than a half million dollars in a short time period, and has more cash on hand than her two primary opponents combined.

“This milestone confirms the momentum that is building on the ground to help me retake this seat for Republicans as we are leading with solutions important to the individual and the family,” Adkins said. “I will continue to work hard every day to earn the trust and support of voters in Kansas City where I have built my business career and raised my children.”

Adkins worked as an executive at a global Kansas City based healthcare and information technology company for 15 years. Prior to that she served as Professional Staff on the U.S. House Rules Committee and advised on commerce issue

  3. Davids fate is tied to whomever the Democrats nominate for President. If it's Sanders or Warren, it'll be all too easy to align her with the activist wing of her party. Bloomberg or Biden, unseating her may be a bit more of a challenge but still very likely.

Remember, this is the candidate that dropped in the KC area after a career working as a political activist. She has no major accomplishments other than identity politics (i.e. labeling herself as homosexual, minority, and a woman). She's voted with her party for the past two years and has done little to distinguish herself (other than identity politics).

The impeachment vote was done in relative silence. Local media outlets didn't ask hard questions and I think she's hoped that her district would forget. Democrats know the seat in JoCo is a gift and they want a candidate that is as least disruptive as possible so they can keep the seat. They need her vote to keep control of the house.

Adkins has a strong chance at getting the seat back and we'll start seeing a lot of money poured into the race from both parties knowing that it could determine who controls the house. JoCo voter turnout will be high - especially to counteract Democrats if they keep marching to the left.

  4. ^^ ding ding ding. Davids needs to start working on her resume. She's a one termer bound to work for some activist group with her profile highlighting she's "the first female lesbian native american congresswoman".

  5. ^^^ And yet it's likely that she wins reelection because She is well liked by her constituents and has done a good job. Weird.

  8. Davids wants to end the "Chief's Chop" tradition at the KC Chiefs games. And she is going to do it if we dont vote her out of office.

  12. Amanda already has my vote if she wins the primary because she is NOT running a campaign of identity politics. She has substance and experience in real work on her side. She cares about people and provides service to the community. No reason to believe that she would do anything else as our next district 3 representative from Kansas!

  14. No company in KC metro is more dependent on government funding than Cerner! Federal healthcare funding and local taxpayer subsidies! Yet all the Cerner Execs rail against big government...bunch of hypocrites! Anybody but Adkins!!!

  18. 9:56 makes the statement "She is well liked by her constituents and has done a good job". I'm sure if you talk to a bunch of activist Democrats then they are all talking about what a great job she's doing.

The reality is over 60% of her district is right, center right that does not support the Democrat agenda. Her only hope of being reelected was to have some kind of bi-partisan or center-right votes during her first term and she's struck out. If her message to voters is "yeah, I voted with Pelosi 100% of the time" she's toast.

As an elected member of Congress, votes matter more than being likable.

  19. Sharice Davids walks around with a shirt that says "all of her heroes killed colonizers" and people want to vote for her????? She's as bad as Ilhan Omar. She should actually resign on her own. VOTE HER OUT!

  21. I think the distinction is clear when it comes to Adkins and Davids.

Adkins has been successful in a muti-billion dollar private company that support thousands of jobs throughout the district. She's been involved in local and federal government for over a decade and is familiar with an issue that is at the top of the voters concerns - healthcare.

Davids has little experience outside of activist organizations in other states, running a defunct coffee shop, and running for political office as a referendum on a president that many people wanted to cast a protest vote. In congress, she's voted with the political party a majority of her constituents don't agree with and accomplished nothing.

12:55 - who would you hire to run your coffee shop? Who would you hire to run your healthcare?

  23. Adkins was Brownback's lackey that bankrupt the state. Yeah, she would be great to trust with our healthcare dollars.

As far as that goes, I don't trust a guy that has bankrupt his casino several times either. He got the US debt back to a $1 trillion annually, just like Bush.

None of these Republicans can be trusted with taxpayer funds or economy. Borrow and spend always leads to recessions after the sugar high.

  24. I like how the Washington establishment is now in the business of picking the winners and losers several months before the GOP primary.

These are the same experts that told us that Yoder voters would sweep him into another decade in the of lobbyist service by double digits in 2018.
