FUNDING KANSAS CITY STARTUP SCENE FILLS POTHOLES?!?!?

A sketchy premise argues for 12th & Oak to continue to fund the local NEXTGEN biz community. Here's their side of the story:

Ecosystem builder on Mayor Q's budget cuts: Startup support helps fill potholes too

Startup support is an investment - not just a cost to the city, a leading ecosystem builder said Thursday following a proposed KCMO budget that would reduce funding for groups aiding KC's emerging innovators and risk-takers.

  2. Does that mean the next craft applesauce maker won't get funded? Economic ruin will certainly follow.

  3. Tried going down Guinotte to Knuckleheads from the River Market today. It is still closed from a sinkhole that has been there at least 7 months. That is absurd and unacceptable.

  4. I'll be impressed when I see geeks out on the streets shoveling asphalt into holes.

  5. If these so called startups where contributing so much cash to the local economy we wouldn't be confronting this mess.

  6. We need more bike lanes. The new Zero Vision program also need our money. 18th & Vine requires several million. Potholes can wait!

  7. Soooooo, today in my neighborhood which by the way hasn’t seen street repairs for the 21 years I’ve lived here, there were two city vehicles patching potholes, these lazy fucks would get out of the truck patch two or three small holes and then sit in the truck for 45 minutes to an hour then move a half a block and repeat the process all over again.... time and a half is what they got paid for sitting their fat ass’s in the truck for most of the day. What a joke.

  8. Lets build a down town baseball park.....We can worry about the potholes later!!! Grow up mother fuckers, KC could put a Tampon stand on the corner and blame it on why the potholes never get fixed.
