Downtown's Barney Allis Plaza to be remodeled

Hide Transcript Show Transcript DOWNTOWN PARKING. THE PROBLEM WITH THE BARN ALLI PLAZA IS IT IS HARD TO SEE AND HARD TO USE. ELEVATED FROM STREET LEVEL ON EVERY SIDE, INCLUDING TALL STAIRS ON EACH OF THE SOUTHERN CORNERS. THAT'S REALLY ESSENTIAL TO A HEALTHY, FUNCTIONING PARK.

  3. Where does the money come from? KCMO Taxpayers have had enough!!

If the City uses General Funds or bonds for this Russ Johnson con game, then the entire City Council should be recalled, starting with Selfie Quinton!!!

  4. not that barney allis plaza is so great, but it is there, it is paid for, and it is some parking

spending this kind of dough on something that will not generate one job or pay one cent in property taxes seems a little misguided right now, given situation with city infrastructure.

and please don't mention the construction jobs. yes some temporary jobs. but by the way there will not be one black construction worker on the site - there never is on any of the downtown projects thatI've seen. those construction jobs are short lived and yes a 1% e tax the city gets. but they don't spend any money while they are downtown. they park free at 3rd and grand or 4th and wyandotte or somewhere they can park free and ride free streetcar to job site, brown bag it, and then when their shift is over hop in their pickups and drive home to Buckner or excelsior springs or basehor and don't spend one freaking dime in KCMO. -radish

  5. They've remodeled this stupid place for years. Remember when it had tennis courts? This is such a lame idea and if they do get rid of parking then it makes no sense
