CONSENSUS: KANSAS CITY DESPERATELY NEEDS MORE COPS ON THE STREET!!!

For the past couple of years our blog community has complained that KCMO has FAILED TO MEET GOALS SET BACK IN 1968.

Here's a look at more people supporting this policy change that prioritizes workers over surveillance toys and community outreach handout programs. Checkit:

City leaders focused on increasing number of KCPD officers

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department currently has nearly 1,300 officers, and they want to add more. A KCPD spokesperson said on Feb. 25, the department plans to present a budget proposal to City Council asking them to fund 30 additional officers for their May 2020 academy class.

  3. We need more officers who are willing to beat and shoot criminal hood rats.

  4. Yes, more quality officers on the streets would be great. You know what else would be great? If people would stop being robbing, raping, murdering thugs. Yeah, I know...too much to hope for. Until our so-called city leaders start calling out those bad actors and accepting what the real problem is, you could put a thousand extra officers out there and it wouldn't help.

  5. Those who love to kill others, will continue to kill.

Since Kansas City is broke, if the Police Department could be detached from Missouri state Government Control, officers could sell protection to businesses and citizens to fund their operations, just like they did in Tom's Town. San Quinton Donald Ludicrous would love that idea, as it would give him more money to waste on his long list of other unrealistic dreams.

    Y'all have a wonderful day!

  6. Yup, get more officers out there, but NEVERMIND the wait times for 911 to answer--or, the "dropped" 911 calls--or, the dispatcher's yawns, coughs, and ebonics--or, the loud cackling from the chatterbox at a nearby call console playing on their personal phone.

  7. City government seems to be able to build a new airport, build an unseeded hotel, grant tax incentives like crazy, stage expensive parades and poorly attended art adventures, poor millions into the Jazz District...and yet.... can't quite manage extra police officers. Police, however, are a basic service and we know those services are no fun at all.

  8. Focused on and doing something about it are two different things.
If talk was gold this city would be up to its neck in riches.
Our leaders try and talk the talk but miserably fail to walk the walk.

  9. More money for more police in more police stations. The police don't show up. The police don't show up. The police don't show up. The police lie. The police don't show up. The police don't show up. The police don't show up. The City of Kansas City MO has some 350 more police than the peer cities (taking into consideration both the size of the city and the number of citizens in the city). KCMO doesn't need more police; KCMO needs more police to actually act like police and show up.
