Local Chiefs fans celebrate in Super Bowl victory parade, rally

Kansas City's biggest love fest happened this morning as more than 850,000 lined Grand Boulevard in the downtown area and filled the hill in front of the Liberty Memorial and Union Station to celebrate the Chiefs' Super Bowl LIV victory. The parade started at 11:30 a.m.

  1. So I hope the writer of that article gets reprimanded or terminated as they had no source like you said, Tony. Where in the fuck did they get that estimate? Out of some PR for the city's ass? And they hate being called The Independence Examiner too. Lol. Good one, though.

  2. Politicians know that newspapers will print whatever information they give them. How often do you see newspapers questioning anything local politicians do?

  9. It was a good time. Maybe too good.

  10. There is no way you can say how many were there. Just say it was a pouring out of people from miles around and call it good.

In the end the numbers mean nothing, will gain us nothing, so arguing about it, gains nothing.

  12. The Examiner is not the newspaper it once was. And is hardly the bastion of reliability in the news business.

Remember this interesting story about sextuplets they, "Broke" only for it to be a scam for money?

    https://www.spokesman.com/stories/2006/apr/13/missouri-couple-admits-sextuplet-story-a-scam/

After egg was on their faces, all editor-in-chief Dale Brendel and the reporter could do is say, "Well we were fooled everybody..sorry about that." Dale, who is from Eastern Jackson County, moved to take a job in Leavenworth. I think he's at the Joplin Globe now.

    Then there was this story.

    https://www.thepitchkc.com/track-scars/

The Examiner ruined two HS track programs because of their insistence that they needed to report a glorified exhibition as a real meet. They to this very day they take zero blame for the state of Truman's cross country program and setting back their coaches' careers.

  14. Here's your source.

"The crowd gathered was the largest audience to ever witness a parade, period, both in person and around the globe.”

    Would we lie to you?

  15. Kansas City metro's population is 2 million. To have 850,000 or a million people at this rally or the 2015 Royals rally, it would mean that 50% of the population in this metro could take off work or cared about a sports rally. Or it would mean that thousands of visitors came from other cities. Especially on day with temps below freezing, does anyone really believe half the metro had the luxury of taking off work that day? If that was the case the city would have shut down with no fast food workers, no hospital workers, no police or firemen, no retail, etc.
