BACKFIRE!!! KANSAS CITY MAYOR QUINTON LUCAS GUN TALK WITH MISSOURI GUV PARSON HELPS REPUBLICANS THREATEN TO PUT MORE YOUNGSTERS IN JAIL!!!

Last year Mayor Quinton Lucas held a number of meetings with Missouri Guv Parson about stricter gun laws.

Insiders warned us that a double-cross was underway. They were 100% correct and here's the worst part of it . . .

THE MAYOR Q CONVERSATION WITH GUV PARSON IS NOW USED TO JUSTIFY LOCKING UP MORE KANSAS CITY YOUNGSTERS AND CHARGING THEM AS ADULTS!!!

Of course this raises the issue of equity given the bias built into the criminal justice system evidenced by the fact that Black & Latino youngsters are far more likely than their white counterparts to be tried as adults.

Back to the local angle . . .

Not only does Guv Parson deny ever supporting "red flag laws" that KCMO urban core leaders are pushing . . . The Missouri GOP Super-Majority is now only willing to consider gun law crackdowns targeting youngsters . . .

MDJ: Youth could be tried as adults for firearm offenses under proposed law

Deets:

JEFFERSON CITY — Children older than 12 could be tried as adults for firearm offenses if a bill debated by the Senate Judiciary Committee on Monday becomes law.

Sen. Wayne Wallingford, R-Cape Girardeau, said “this is one of the governor’s priorities” and was brought to him to carry through the Senate. Gov. Mike Parson has met with mayors of the state’s cities to discuss solutions in combating the rising gun violence.

“He had talks with people from those cities, the mayors and that, and I also know he works for protecting Second Amendment rights,” Wallingford said. “How do you protect Second Amendment rights but deal with crime, deal with use of a weapon? This might be the best way to compromise with that.”

The bill would not require minors charged with armed criminal action or unlawful use of a firearm to be tried as adults, but it would require them to go before a judge who would determine how to try them.

Developing . . .

    1. ^^^ It's only the 1st round.

Person isn't going to be reelected. Blue Wave in 2020 will push him out along with a number of other Missouri Republicans.

  3. This isn't at all surprising, given the fact that Parson knows what the actual problems of violence and homicides are caused by and Lucas is more interested in coming up with new distractions and excuses for behavior.
KCMO needs to have the federal and state law enforcement and the federal prosecutors and judges involved as a regular part of working to clean up violence and get the thugs off the street.
Way past time to be concerned about the regular folks who live in these high-crime neighborhoods and stop making believe that some social worker is going to "save" a 20 year-old guy who dropped out of high school, has four children he seldom even sees, has no job or work skills, and has been dealing, robbing, stealing, carjacking, and killing for years.
    Good for the governor!

  5. Willie Sutton, a famous thief who was NOT a politician, once said, that he robbed banks, because, "That was where the money was".

Bloomberg was right when he continued New York's "Stop And Frisk" initiatives. Murders went from around 2,000 a year to 300. The cops went to "Where the crime was".

That doesn't get you many votes in today's democrat/Fascist party, but, the truth is the truth. Crime is committed, not caused. You can pretend that Michael Brown is a gentle giant and that Freddie Grey was a productive member of society, but, we all know they were scumbag, thugs.

If Black people, really thought that Black Lives Mattered, then they would have supported Stop and Frisk because the lives it saves, are, for the most part, BLACK. But of course, we know that is bullshit, the trade off for power, measured in dead bodies is a small price to pay for that same power. Especially when you can blame it on whitey.

  6. This bill could pass and become law and would be meaningless in Jackson County, as long as Jean Petersucker Baker is the prosecutor. Jean Petersucker Baker is the criminal’s best friend.

  10. Who do you think has a better grasp of the issue? Parsons . . . who spent a couple of decades in law enforcement, or Lucas . . . who has spent his adult life taking selfies and uttering meaningless platitudes.
