Aftermath: Kansas Red State Disconnect Apparent After Hard Fought Victory For Shawnee Mission School District Teachers

Looking at some of the commentary and reactions, we can only offer one simple observation . . .

Notable JoCo resistance to teachers making more cash by way of collective bargaining signals very real divisions in the Golden Ghetto. Still, the victory and underlying support offers insight into how/why the Democratic Party have flipped this district.

The Kansas Department of Labor has sided with the teachers union in an ongoing contract dispute with the Shawnee Mission School District. The Department of Labor found that the district committed a "prohibited labor practice" when it imposed a three-year unilateral contract on teachers late last month.

Look at all those over worked and over fed teachers. DOL don’t have a dog in this fight since it's a take it or leave it contract. What, the DOL is now going to tell employers how much of a raise they can and can't give someone each year?
