TKC QUESTION: WILL LAWSUIT LAUNCHED AGAINST GUNMAKERS BY MAYOR QUINTON LUCAS STOP KANSAS CITY KILLING?!?

Today Kansas City engaged in a long-shot legal complaint targeting firearm manufacturers and some gun dealers. Typically, these cases sometimes earn settlements or often get thrown out of court but we haven't seen any evidence wherein a municipal gun lawsuit reduced crime.

And so we ask . . .

WILL THIS LAWSUIT HELP CURB THE KANSAS CITY HOMICIDE RATE OR IS MAYOR QUINTON LUCAS MISTAKENLY ENGAGING AN ANTI-GUN CRUSADE?!?!

Statement from the Mayor:

"Today, we took another bold, creative step to curb gun violence by filing a lawsuit against several firearm manufacturers, dealers and individuals that allegedly trafficked more than 75 handguns into the Kansas City region over a five-year period.

"This makes Kansas City the first city to file a lawsuit against the gun industry in more than 10 years.

“It is the latest in a series of actions Lucas’ administration has taken to curb rampant gun violence in Kansas City. Last year, the City Council passed a series of ordinances he championed meant to keep firearms out of the hands of minors and domestic abusers.”

    Of course it will work!

It's totally not a publicity stunt. Violence is OVER!

  2. Why don’t we sue Jean Petersucker Baker for not being competent enough to put criminals away?

  3. This lawsuit is flimsy. Will he blame the courts when it's tossed? This is why we need to stop electing lawyers. They think legal documents solve everything and they neglect what's really happening in our neighborhoods.

  4. Lawsuit will be dismissed.

The stupid money the city spent on Lawyers could better be spent on Bike Lanes.

Can’t believe the stupidity has already exceeded the previous administration.

  5. One thing we haven’t tried is getting rid of our unskilled, weak, soft-on-crime prosecutor, Jean Petersucker Baker, and replacing her with a skilled, aggressive prosecutor.

Selfie Q thinks this lawsuit is the holy grail and will solve crime. Sadly it will have no effect. He knows who is responsible for murder in KCMO but no lawsuit against them.
The gun companies did not make/force any of the hood rats to commit murder. Suit is dead on arrival.

This latest virtue-signal will not prevent a single death any more than our votes will prevent a single brave American serviceman from giving his life in the Middle East for I$rael.

  9. Do not know what Selfie Q is trying to accomplish as the hood rats will not relinquish their firearm.
A better approach for curbing gun violence is to actually arrest, prosecute, and incarcerate the perpetrator.

  10. Just a continuation of the endless insistence on NOT IDENTIFYING THE ACTUAL PROBLEM.
This is about as relevant and will be as effective as the idiot Kraske's plan to reduce violence by tearing down Confederate statues.
Smiley selfies Lucas at his best.
    Sad.
Get the feds and the state police involved and prosecuted the thugs in federal court.
By the way, Quinton, do you realize that the vast majority of both victims and perpetrators of homicides in KCMO are black?

    1. ^^^ Damn good comment. If this was a serious effort they would have started down that road. Not sure if we'll see it in the future. Seems like the Feds are doing their own thing. But glad to see somebody paying attention!

Mayor "Professor I Was Born A Poor Bastard Black Child" Lucas to solve:

Heroin epidemic by suing needle manufacturers!

Obesity epidemic by suing fast-food retailers!

  17. Total BS!! The fire Capt didn't pull the trigger..A person did... Using this man as a scapegoat is nonsense!!

Guns are sold illegally and legal in KCMO, by everyone..Not just black or white people. Guns are loved by Americans, who pull the triggers... Going after the manufacturing plant is crazy and usless..smh..

  18. Be more effective to sue the Jewish owned music companys and their rap artists that are polluting the blacks with the propaganda of tug life. Black culture is in the toilet and going down.
