After Tumult Over Racial Issues, Lee's Summit Hires A Superintendent From A Smaller District

The Lee's Summit school board announced today that it hired David Buck as the district's new superintendent. Buck has served as superintendent for the Wright City schools, a tiny district about 40 miles west of St. Louis, since 2015. He'll start in Lee's Summit on July 1.

  1. I'm sure this "affirmative action" hire was the most qualified person for the job when compared to the other candidates and I'm sure everything will turn out just great. Way to go, Lee's Scummitt.

  3. Well with all of the race related law suits going on I think it's best to hire a white guy. I can see it if there is a racial comment was being made and proof of racial bias, but these black people just assume everything is racial. I had a black kid refuse to help me once but helped a black lady behind me I cried racism and they told me that was a strong statement to use, so......

  4. There was no diversity disaster. There was a race baiting, money wasting "racial equity" disaster, but he got fired. Good to see that there is a public body that can learn from its mistakes. Hope the KC City Council is watching.

  5. Maybe Carpenter should move lnto KC and apply for city manager. Got the race qualification but wrong gender. Darn!

  6. What's troubling is Carpenter isn't going away. He seems intent on staying in KC and making trouble.

  7. Carpenters goal was to get test scores up for all segments of the student population. One of the ways he was planning to do this was to eliminate the advanced placement curriculum in the school district.
    Think about that.

  8. ^^^His actual goal was to eliminate the test score gaps between the different student grievance groups. It was evident that if he could not attain that goal by lifting the lowest, he would happily meet the goal by lowering the highest. That's "equity," folks.

  9. Do you stupid fuckers ever read a story before commenting? No, you asswipes look at a picture and form your own conclusions.

Explain to me how posting stupid shit that's a lie benefits anyone? Has to be a reason, to many idiots do it dailey on here and Tony for whatever reason allows it. That is free speech that's plain and simple hate speech.

    1. Hi Mr Carpenter! How's the old race hustle going? Lol

Well founded criticism of a public figure isn't hate speech. Run along to your safe space with your therapy blanket.

  11. If I was him I would never spend time alone with anyone in a business setting, specifically women and particularly women of color.
That actually applies to any white male in a position of authority.

  12. Hey 11:41. The idea of closing the test score gap by lowering the highest scores is not an option the district ever wanted or would have ever approved. The "lets all fail together" philosophy is a non-starter and should be for all school districts.
