A Pothole Revolt Stirs in Kansas City
Lish Ways hit a yawning pothole on 75th Street in Waldo last weekend. By Monday, a tire on her recently purchased 2016 Kia Forte was flat as a pancake. Mark Trokey's Automotive fixed her bent tire rim. But the $97 bill was a car payment she didn't anticipate - or appreciate.
In KCMO she shouldn't be driving a car.
ReplyDeleteShe needs to understand that KCMO is working to lead the country in climate-friendly transit options which require her to either walk, ride the free buses, or use a bicycle.
And she should support the $350 million proposal from BikeRideKC.
Upside-down priorities of city government have consequences.
Maybe she should move to one of the other 114 municipalities in the metro where the local government actually takes care of the streets.
Momentum!
I was rolling down 71st the other day it looks like a bomb field too.
ReplyDeletePotholes, bulletholes, and handouts. Meanwhile, in Kansas.......
ReplyDeleteI was all over the city today and I have to say I’ve nevar seen this many potholes in my life, the scary part is I’ve also nevar seen so many that were that deep, Jesus Christ it’s bad out there.

ReplyDeleteThe city council should give themselves another raise so they can spend more time studying the pot hole issue ahead of raising water bills again. What is the current ranking of the councils tax payer funded travel expenditures since the current council took office? Are they going to the Super Bowl at tax payer expense?

ReplyDeleteI'm posting this again for the fourth time. Quinton Lucas has had people apply to help fix the streets like he asked for and they never got a call back. Quinton Lucas will NOT hire WHITE PEOPLE he would rather let the streets go to hell and them cry because he has no one to help! He's a liar! He has had plenty of help but doesn't want it. Your tax dollars at work! Suck it up.
^^OK Boomer.
ReplyDeleteCity wide referendum which terminates ALL city business with the exception of the police and fire dept until the roads are fixed.
ReplyDeleteSly James/Jermaine Reed Consulting? Can we get these problem solvers involved???
ReplyDeleteMaybe the city can contract with Sly James and Jermaine Reed for a review and recommendation of the city streets. These two individuals were very productive in their leadership as Mayor and Council member. Their accomplishments include, 18th and Vine, Jazz Museum, MLK renaming, deferred street maintenance, City Grocery store and excessive travel on the City credit card.
ReplyDeleteEducation includes, and MBA from UMKC fro Mr. Reed.....
