Missouri Auditor Galloway Gets Hyperlocal In Her Campaign Against Guv Parson

With a move toward war and impeachment fading . . . This politico displays a nuanced understanding of the local political game by focusing on MISSOURI ISSUES FIRST. Here's here latest gambit that deserves at least a brief mention:

Letter: Aud. Galloway urges Gov. Parson to update state's parental leave policies

State Auditor Nicole Galloway issued a letter Monday urging Governor Mike Parson to sign an executive order updating the state's parental leave policies. Auditor Galloway is recommending that Missouri allows state workers to take up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave after the birth or adoption of a child.

  1. Isn’t this subject far removed from being an auditor, why isn’t she going after kc, Jackson county and shitty Louis for their abuses of of money and power? They are run by dimwits that’s why.

  2. @5:42, It's not the Auditor's job to INITITE Audits of sovereign Cities or Counties, why don't you start a citizen's petition requesting such an Audit, since that's the procedure the Missouri Constitution calls for?

  3. Her most pressing concern between now and November will be to get her photo the news as many times as possible. That will involve using her position as state auditor to officially criticize and implicitly threaten her political opponents. She should either run for governor or act as auditor, not both.

But getting photo ops and name recognition does not translate into governing competently. Example: Mark Funkhouser.
