Neighbors raising concerns with proposed outdoor music venue on Vine Street

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- There's a boom in Kansas City's urban core. Developers are proposing a new music venue just south of the historic Jazz District, but not everyone's in favor of the idea. Dr. Stacy Battle has called Vine Street home for years.

  1. If it’s such a boon, why is the city paying that guy to fix his own building? The same can be said about that abandoned castle across the street. Just being a block away from the so called jazz district is not helping.

  2. ^^^^^

That's just hype and nothing more. It's also a black white issue.

  3. You put 3000 niggers in a venue at 18th and Vine someone's going to get "disrespected". You're looking at one hell of a shootout. Might be fun to watch.

  5. Sure allow the place to open and watch the shooting begin.

  6. I think this would be a wonderful opportunity to pause for a moment and give thanks for the many great contributions of the black community and their culture to our society. Their peaceful and generous nature makes them ideal neighbors, lending testimony to their exceptional family values and parenting skills unrivaled by any other culture. Their commitment to academic excellence enriches our schools and serves as an example to all who hope to achieve prominence as a people. Real estate values are fueled by the influx of African Americans into an area due to their caring and respectful nurturing of these communities, as an example of all they have achieved by their enthusiasm for self-improvement through hard work and a self-reliant can-do nature. Without their industrious and creative drive, we would be poorer as a nation.

  8. No more "free money" to this part of town. Any outdoor music event there will bring nothing but trouble.

  9. ^^Well you are nobody of any consequence or importance so.......

  10. Two blocks south of that are some of the worst neighborhoods in KC. You would have to be crazy to go to an outdoor venue there where a drive-by could be committed so easily. People would be sitting ducks there.
