Redux link cross-posted but still worthy of another look as the local CREATIVE-CLASS SEEM TO BE RUNNING OUT OF CASH AND DIRECTION as the local elite no longer find subsidizing local artists as rewarding as they once did before flexing on social media became the most popular American pastime for every self-obsessed denizen of the discourse.

  1. There is no future for "art" in Kansas City!
All "artists" should leave and move to a more accepting location, such as Arkansas.

And please take the Kemper Museum, the Block Buildings at the Nelson and all the decorations bought from the "1% for 'art' program" with you.

  2. The last generation could have cultivated leaders that would have kept our proud society going but instead they tried to be "woke" and minimized our traditions and values. Now fewer people care about institutions that have been here for over 100 years and no one really cares about anything

  3. It's not a matter of people who don't care, no one cares more than I do about the art and the history of that beautiful Nelson building. What matters is...art today has become nothing but trash IMO some modern art is good but that's not what is happening today. One instance is the walking wall. That is why I refuse to walk into the Nelson Gallery today and never will again. That was not art, that was a protest portraying itself as art and was uncalled for. As far as the Block building. Some may think it's OK, I personally think it's hideous and ruins the historic Nelson building. So what happens to the funding? That was their choice to lose it if they do!

  5. If your looking to cater to this latest and greatest generation of Kansas Citians turn the Nelson into a mixed used entertainment playground for the broke and woke. A hipster dive bar called Nostalgia, an axe throwing joint, an artisan mac and cheese joint, and a sneaker store...

  6. ^^^ Better use for the Bloch Addition than the shitshows in there now.
