Johnson County Church Of The Resurrection Divided Over LGBT Same-Sex Marriage

Tragic irony for the faithful, one of the nation's biggest churches will split over the topic of inclusion . . . Here's the local impact and reporting on one of the area's most high profile faith communities:

Church of the Resurrection senior pastor to unveil plan to split United Methodist Church over LGBTQ issues

The new plan appears to suggest that those who agree with the Traditional Plan will start their own denomination, while those who support same-sex marriage and LGBTQ pastors will remain as the United Methodist Church, according to leaders at the Church of Resurrection.

  2. Fuck that church and all the faggots who go there. I hope they all get aids and die.

  3. All the church needs to do if they believe in the Bible and what it says, is read it! The Bible is the word of God and has proven to be the true word of God if people would read and study what it says. The Bible is very clear about homosexuality! No one forces the Bible or God on anyone it is a choice, you either believe it, or you don't. It's that simple.

  4. Time to find a new church. God doesn’t care much for homosexuality no matter what Asswipe Hamilton would have us all believe.

The real division in the Christian Church is between the teachings of Paul & the teachings of Jesus. Most "Christians" seem to prefer Paul, because they can create a false "Prosperity Gospel".

    Paul preached exclusion.

    Jesus preached inclusion.

  8. Why couldn’t the gay people just go to Presbyterian churches? They have been pandering to gays for a long time

  9. 4:22 You ever worked on a Sunday? How about family or friends? I'm sorry but you and/or them are going to have to die. Sorry, just following the bible. I guess this means you believe in slavery as well so ce the bible does. Do you think Adam and Eve populated the Earth? They had three sons, care to tell how they had children? I mean, there is just one woman on Earth and it's their mom. The bible is full of horrible things nobody should live by. A whole bunch of fucking hypocrites on this thread here I tell ya. I hope all of your kids turn out gay and let me beat you to the punch. I'm not gay, I just don't give a shit what people do as long as they aren't hurting anyone. Also, you might want to reread what the bible says about judging people. To quote Roy Munson, it's against it.

  10. Can't they swish around as they wish in Perfect Village ?

  11. 4:53, you have no idea what you're talking about. Whom exactly did Paul, a rather well educated Greek speaking evangelist, exclude, and from what?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Faggotry should be excluded from any church, even one as lame as the Methodist church.

  13. This is a perfect example of why young people are leaving churches in droves. While they may find the teachings of Jesus ("love your neighbor") appealing, they properly reject all the qualifiers the church has put on that love. In short, Christ-yes; Christianity not so much.

And it would be VERY interesting to know how many of the rabidly anti-gay comments on this post come from people who actually go to church. Not many, I'd bet.

  14. 5:19 makes a great point. Some other sins the Bible calls out: eating shellfish, women wearing pants, eating and drinking in excess. But anytime these things are brought up, most Christians will brush them off or have excuses why they can’t be taken literally. Sorry, that’s not how the game is played. You can’t cherry-pick which scriptures to follow and which to ignore. So it sounds like a lot of fat people and women in jeans will be damned like the gays.

  15. Wish they’d have told the Methodist girls at my high school that sucking dicks was ok.

  16. ^^^ @7:51 they did - just not yours.

  17. @4:22, sort of missed the part about "Judge not, lest ye be judged, for vengeance is mine, sayeth the Lord" didn't you?

MYOB and you might have some slight chance of making up for your own grave sins before it's time to face God.

  18. Adam Hamilton is chomping at the bit to be the leader of a new denomination. Truly, he has his reward.

  21. This is what happens when Liberal Homosexual Social Justice Warriors, like Adam Hamilton, are allowed to lead a congregation.

Remember when Hamilton sucked up to President Obama and they confessed their membership in the "down-low" club?

I'm all for tolerance and acceptance, until you try to destroy the foundational tenets of a multi-generational faith community.

Too many churches in the metro, and across the country, have watered down their faith traditions to the point where they're nearly unrecognizable as churches.

  22. @8:49, you don't have to be an Atheist to see how Christianity has perverted and distorted the teachings of the Christ, and used God's message for their own benefit.

And THAT's why the young people "are Leaving the Church, and going back to God"!

    ReplyDelete
  23. If you don't like God's teachings, just do what the Evangelists do, re-write the Bible to say what you think God should have said!

    FUCK NO!

  30. 8:06 That is so, so rich of you. Post a verse about judgement while at the same time you're on here judging people. When you look in the mirror that is a fuckin' hypocrite looking back at you. Speaking of hypocrites, I 100% guarantee you're a Trump voter. Most "religious" people I know are terrible people and wouldn't poss on a homeless guy if he was on fire. You think going to church and tossing a buck in the collection plate makes you a good person when the truth is once outside the church doors you revert back to your true asshole self. Churches are FULL of people like that.
