Today local media CONFIRMED our reporting on the unsuccessful effort to review the Assessment Director's contract . . . And here's more explanation of the old and busted tech used to justify massive and disproportioante tax increases. Checkit:
Jackson County assessor seeks help to maintain records, data
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Jackson County Assessment Department is requesting help to maintain records and data related to real estate tax parcels. The county issued a request for proposal Jan. 2 for a 12-month contract "for the furnishing of services relating to the Maintenance of Assessment Records and Data for the Jackson County, Missouri [sic] Assessment Department."
The first full business week of 2020 commences and events pile up like smashed vehicles on a weather-blinded highway.

"Anyone hired to fulfill the contract will report directly to the County Assessor Gail McCann Beatty"
ReplyDeleteGood gawd just fire this corrupt bitch already!
ReplyDeleteThe city needs to update their records something terrible. Most of the houses that have shared drives have no easements recorded. My old house had a shared drive, when I tried to get an easement the city said they had no record of my house even having a driveway at all. This house was built in the early 1900's but there should have been a record of the changes since the drive was poured. That can turn into a huge costly mess for the homeowner not to mention trying to keep your neighbor off when there's no record of a driveway or easement. BAD DEAL
Nobody will want that job if forced to work with Beatty. I am with 5:01pm just thrown the whole department in the trash.
ReplyDelete2 weeks to respond to this complicated proposal is a joke, Franks fix is in
ReplyDeleteWhere or what is troy doing during all this mess?
ReplyDelete"Reporting" implies you gathered verifiable facts from sources willing to be named on the record.
ReplyDeleteSince the next time that happens will be the first time with you, don't make us laugh with your chest pounding.
"Journalism" implies a social mission to hold those in power responsible.
DeleteWhen the ludicrously compromised Kansas City Star does anything close to that, it'll be the first time.
Too little too fucking late. And how come the MSM won't report on Frank and Gail's taxes? Did Frank manage to get his paid up this year or is someone going to have to bail him out again from the courthouse steps. The incompetence of this county is disgusting.
