Last year, lawmakers in New Jersey and Pennsylvania proposed legalizing recreational marijuana in their states. A debate ensued. Some argued that legalizing pot would make crime go up; others claimed that it would make crime go down.

  2. There is not necessarily a causal connection. It's more likely that the people who would illegally use marijuana are simply the same people who are apt to commit crimes.

  3. If you asked you would find the vast majority of those who commit crime also smoke weed. So yes weed must make some commit crime.

    Wow. HUGE article to say: We don't know; sometimes yes, sometimes no.
    I used to be a huge advocate for the legalization of marijuana, until I sàw the iñçreàse in homelessness that coincided in the states that legalized it, Now I am against legalization.
