Supreme Justice Awaits

The courts could decide if Trump was impeached

Scott Douglas Gerber writes that the question of whether Trump has been impeached while articles have not been sent to the Senate is one the courts could answer, should Trump pursue legal action.

Double Trouble For Prez Trump

House counsel suggests Trump could be impeached again

It's the first impeachment-related filing by the House since lawmakers voted, mostly along party lines, to impeach Trump over allegations stemming from efforts to pressure Ukraine to investigate his Democratic rivals. It comes just hours after the Justice Department argued that the impeachment votes undercut lawmakers' ongoing court case demanding testimony from McGahn, who was special counsel Robert Mueller's central witness.

Beltway Turnabout

Trump accuses Pelosi of 'crying for fairness' in Senate trial after 'unfair' House impeachment

President Trump slammed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Monday for making demands of the Senate regarding his upcoming trial as she sits on two impeachment articles, accusing her of "crying for fairness" after leading an "unfair" process in the House.

Money Matters

Voters Love the Trump Economy | National Review

President Trump divides Americans, but the Trump economy unites them. The latest issue of the AEI Political Report, edited by my colleagues Karlyn Bowman and Eleanor O'Neil, is chockablock with positive assessments of the economic scene. More Americans (38 percent) say their personal financial situation is improving than getting worse (20 percent).

Past Impeachment Stands Dog Senate Leaders In Witness Stalemate

subscribe to The NPR Politics Podcast podcast With the House impeachment of President Trump, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ken., says it's now up to the Senate to adjudicate the matter. "We're ready to sit there and have the trial the Constitution requires," McConnell told Fox News on Monday.

And so . . .

The divisive feud continues for so many Americans too broke and angry to think about the holidays.

  1. Trump stays as long as the economy keeps running. That seems to be the best thing he has going for him.

  2. The Democrats are drawing this out for as long as possible. Can't blame them. The process and his reactions make Trump look horrible and not presidential. McConnell is actually looking more powerful than the President in this situation. The GOP is stringing along the President. Wouldn't be surprised to see him resign under the threat of impeachment soon.

His resignation solves problems for both Republicans and Democrats. It's the right thing for him to do for the good of the country.

    1. Well, no.

The impeachment hasn't changed anyone's opinion, and is growing more unpopular. Every major GOP figure is out demanding due process for the Prez. When Durham's investigation drops and there are actual crimes to take about, it ain't gonna be pretty for Dems.

  12. "Economy is working for the richest, not all Americans. Most working people know this" Other, of course, than the working people who have 401ks, IRAs, pension funds invested in stocks and bonds, personal investments, and those who have jobs that they wouldn't have had five years ago. Who the economy is definitely not working for are the neo-Marxists such as yourself. Kind of hard to make people believe your nonsense when so many are doing well.

    1. Oh my gosh. Does this bunk come directly from Maga headquarters? Not even halfway relevant to most people earning an income under $100,000. This kind of talk is meant to deceive most working americans who need better health care and more services from the government not just big military parades and stupid rallies. It's the Mega philosophy that's tearing this nation apart and gutting America for Trump and his riches friends. The only problem is that the guy was too incompetent to play Within the rules. That will cost him the presidency when he resigns very soon because of the Articles of impeachment that threatened to put him in jail. This isn't historic Trump has done it time and time again. He's looking to make a deal.

A Gallup poll published on Wednesday placed President Donald Trump’s approval rating at 45 percent– just one point off of his all-time high approval rating.

Using data taken from December 2 to December 15, the poll showed considerable support for President Trump and a drop in support for impeachment.

“46% support impeachment and removal, down six percentage points from the first reading after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced the impeachment inquiry,” Gallup revealed. “Meanwhile, 51% oppose impeachment and removal — up five percentage points over the same period.”

In comparison, a Gallup poll from December 19 2011 showed former President Barack Obama’s approval rating to be 43 percent– two percent less than President Trump’s.

  20. Actually look for Pelosi to resign.

Hearsay is what they relied on to impeach. They took this out of the Kremlin KGB playbook.
The facts were known for the actual transcript Trump provided beforehand.

As local bleeding- heart libs (journalists, et el) know- the Senate will with the help of 6 Democrats- bite down on the House and free Trump from trumped up charges. History will treat the Pelosi-investment to Hades.

Record donations to Republican coffers can only be attributed to the sorry umbrage thrown to Trump. The question. Remains.

Why won’t the media do their job and investigate Biden’s son? How could a non-Russian speaking son of a sitting Vice President get a million dollar job on a Russian Gas Company? Fishy?

    Media: Do your fucking job!

And somehow the media is mad at the President for busting this scam and refuse to report it, apparently they’re getting paid too.

They've all taken Russian tainted money in some way, shape, or form. There's a guy named Lev Parnas who's showing up on a lot of ledgers. Fuck, look at that dumb dumb Devin Nunes. Clown was out there trotting out Russian backed propaganda and then was called out for his relationship with an indicted Russian connected Ukrainian. Why do Republicans love Russians so much? How about you? You a big Putin guy?

  25. Seriously, fact facts Republicans - Trump lost the Popular vote by 3MM+, and got into Office after squeaking through the Electoral College vote by 80,000 votes in three Key States. And this time he won't have as unpopular an Opponent as Clinton was working to his advantage.

Yes, he's riding the crest of the Economic Recovery that started six years before he took Office, but any downturn (let alone a Recession), or any more revelations of unsavory news (like exposure of the amount he's paying himself for the Golfing Vacations he takes), can sink him.

And don't forget that McConnell is folding on calling witnesses during the Trial, and that Executive Privilege can't keep them from testifying in his own Trial. The possibility of Impeachment still exists, and even acquittal can sink Trump if the GOP screws it up and is seem to be rushing to acquit him at any cost.

    ReplyDelete
  26. ^^^^whoa man, way too much logic in there. you expect a Trumpkin to understand or even remotely respond with anything outside of "you have TDS" to that comment?

8:26 - I don't know if you're aware but our President is pushing the "Ukraine interfered with our elections" because his pal Putin has told him that. This, against all the evidence our intelligence has to the contrary that Russia was, in fact, interfering. And come to think of it, Russia would like us to believe that Ukraine is a bad player because they want Ukraine back in the Russian fold and hence, why Ukraine is under siege. So, I guess if that is hysteria, I'm hysterical. Maybe Trump could put all these questions about where his loyalties lie to rest by showing some transparency with his finances, huh? Remember his kid, Eric, talking about all the financing they get from Russians? His words.
