Quick look at the local angle as we start an election year . . . Take a look at this passage from their latest news blast highlighted by TKC:

Jackson County Democrats: Plenty Of Work Happening in Washington Beyond Impeachment

In 2019, Democrats have passed 400 bills in the House to do things like:

- Increase access to affordable healthcare
- Lower the cost of prescription drugs
- Address the reality of the climate crisis
- Improve our education system
- Protect voting rights
- Fight for Civil Rights

Unfortunately, the overwhelming majority suffer a dim fate in Mitch McConnell’s legislative graveyard.

As Democrats continue to do the important work to better our country, members of Congress must also uphold their constitutional responsibilities in response to the egregious actions of President Trump.

Democrats in Congress have not let impeachment hinder their work towards our goals. Just last week Democrats passed a comprehensive bill to lower prescription drug prices (despite 192 Republicans voting against it).

If we want to build on the Democratic momentum of the 2018 and 2019 elections, down-ballot Democrats must do the same.

And this inspires one more look at the national partisan battle ground:

Right Or Wrong?!?!

Trump says he has been denied due process. But the Constitution does not afford him that.

WASHINGTON - In a six-page invective to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, President Donald Trump contended he has been more wronged in the impeachment proceedings than even the 17th-century women who were hanged based on dreams, visions and confessions elicited by torture. "More due process was afforded to those accused in the Salem Witch Trials," the president wrote.

Kansas Politico Tripping

Mike Pompeo to visit Ukraine ahead of Trump impeachment trial

Mike Pompeo will travel to Ukraine this week, ahead of Donald Trump's trial in the Senate over allegations he sought to push Kiev to investigate a political rival.

Power Play Against The Prez???

Opinion | Trump claims that impeachment is a "coup." And he's (almost) right.

President Donald Trump has taken to referring to his impeachment as a "coup." In October, for example, he tweeted: "As I learn more and more each day, I am coming to the conclusion that what is taking place is not an impeachment, it is a COUP intended to take away the power of the........People."

Testimony Talk

Schumer renews call for witnesses to testify in impeachment trial in wake of 'game changer' report

Senate Minority Leader (D-N.Y.) on Monday renewed his call for key Trump administration figures to testify during the Senate impeachment trial in the wake of a New York Times report detailing the White House's efforts to withhold nearly $400 million in military aid to Ukraine.

Poll: Black Americans' opposition to Trump is pushing them to vote in 2020

Details: Third Way and the Joint Center conducted nine focus groups of black voters and non-voters in and around Atlanta, Detroit and Philadelphia. They also commissioned a quantitative survey that goes beyond the 2020 horse race to better understand how these Americans are feeling and thinking about things like the economy, immigration and other issues central to the next election.

Court Win For Team Trump

Judge dismisses impeachment witness lawsuit after House rescinds subpoena

A federal judge on Monday dismissed a lawsuit that former Trump national security official Charles Kupperman had filed challenging a House subpoena for him to testify in the impeachment inquiry after the chamber withdrew their subpoena.

Life Is Give & Take

Amid impeachment, Trump ties with Obama for 'Most Admired Man' of 2019

Who do you admire most in the world? You could answer that question a number of ways; a family member might be the first person to pop into your head, or maybe it's a revered figure such as the Dalai Lama.

You decide . . .

Impeachment has already happened but the case won't be so easily settled. The key is secret ballots in the Senate. Always has been. Then we'll some real deal making in the Senate from both sides. If we're smart Missouri & Kansas could come out ahead.

This is what grid lock looks like.

voter approval of President Trump has hit 50%, the magical and much-needed baselevel for reelection, and he is leading the top Democratic presidential candidates in the 2020 presidential race, according to a new Zogby national survey.

Tony posted AXIOS, The Hill, The Guardian, USA Today, all components of the Main Stream Media minus J Solomon and a few others.

No one, not even the Main Stream Media, pretends that coverage of Trump, through 3 years of lies about Russian Collusion is not dramatically biased. NPR for example notes that 96% of stories in the MSM are negative and agenda driven hit jobs, written by Progressive "Narrative Engineers".

This is the result.

People with enough time, to pay attention to the mendacious, lying, agitprop constantly produced by the MSM, either tune it out, don't watch it, or, are motivated to vote for ANYONE that the lying MSM promotes.

The "Narratives" pounded daily towards the folks who still do, watch liars like Adam Schiff in front of CNN cameras, are all, with very, very few exceptions, just as fallacious as the "Steele Dossier". It'a all lies and the folks listed above, who are shocked when people call them out, for pretending to be OBJECTIVE JOURNALISTS, deserve their reputations and organizations they support, to be the exact laughing stock that they are.

Impeach Frank White, Jackson County democrats.

Chuck, as always thanks for your insight.
I have looked for an answer but have not found any comment on this subject: Was it permissable, legal, ethical, etc. For Adam Schiff to go on talk shows and other media to make the impeachment case outside of Congress before the vote? Have not heard anyone cry foul on this one point alone from anyone in the unbiased MSM. Would like to hear your thoughts and others about this type of disgraceful conduct.

Bernie Bro = when you really don't understand Capitalism and never lived under Socialism. Aka -wanting your ass reamed more than having basic common sense. Both literally and financially. That would be a Bernie Bro. Much like a down low bro.

11:43pm hits the nail on the head.
Who cares what "the Jackson County Democrats" think about national issues or politics?
Look at the performance of their "office holders" right here at home.
Where their incompetence, arrogance, and outright corruption affect you each and every day.
Jackson County and KCMO governments are jokes and continue to drag the entire region down.
Charity begins at home.

If Obama had done what Trump as done the liberals would have demanded a 3rd term, and stomped their feet.

Anonymous said...

Notice that they use vague terms like addressing, fighting and protecting. Translation - The extreme left wing Dems aren't doing a damn thing.

Chuck, if by mainstream you mean normal and not fucking weirdo conspiracy nut news sources, like yourself, then yes, you are correct. Normal people get their news from these sources.

12:41 - you fucking kidding me? dipshit Republicans have made a living showing up on Fox News every night during impeachment proceedings pedaling bullshit, Moscow backed conspiracy theories. Every.Fucking.Night. So give it a fucking rest dummy.

Anonymous said...

"Moscow backed" is so yesterday. You are multiple talking points behind the curve. Do try harder to keep up.

8:28 they were not the lead dog in this dog & pony show like Schiff! Dummy.

Trump is going to win in historic landslide with the help of minority voters, the house goes red again, and the Senate will be 80% red. The SC will lean conservative soon. The republic will be saved for a few more years. With any luck we will work towards a three party system by 2024. Trump is not a Republican by the way.

Noted not one item in the list mentioned either improving or sustaining the economy.

Democrats passed 400 bills designed to bankrupt America. I wouldn't brag too much about the content of most of those bills.

The average number of black voters swing Democrat 90-10. In 2016 they went 85-15. Legitimate polls are saying that up to 30 percent of the black vote may go to Trump. Considering that ever civil rights leader's spent 5 years calling the man a racist that's a huge shift and a major rejection of their own leadership.

Rank and file union membership turned against Democrats for Trump and appear to do the same this election in bigger numbers.

Who do the Democrats have in their corner? The LGBYQWTFBBQ crowd that makes up about 3 percent of the population, the Marxist spectrum, the low information gullible idiot voter who can't read past a headline and the illegal alien block who cannot legally vote at all.
