SHOW-ME KANSAS CITY GUN CONTROL INSPIRATION OR UPCOMING DEFEAT?!?!

Don't get it twisted, there is grassroots support across Missouri for recent gun legislation championed by Mayor Quinton Lucas . . . Example:

Joplin Globe: Give gun reforms a chance

Money line:

Gov. Mike Parson and the mayors of St. Louis, Kansas City, Columbia and Springfield recently proposed a three-pronged plan to fight gun violence by seeking to keep firearms from minors, domestic abusers and violent offenders. The mayors also called for more money for witness protection programs and community mental health treatment. Parson said he would ask the Legislature for the funding.

The Legislature won’t return until January, and the Republican-led body is unlikely to undertake any sweeping reform . . . “These aren’t radical ideas,” Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas said.

In fairness, here's more explanation from Mayor Q:

"Glad to see these ideas picking up traction throughout Missouri. It’s common sense to keep guns out of the hands of domestic abusers and minors without parental consent. I hope all will see it that way and help make all our communities safer."

And so we ask because MISSOURI INSIDERS REMIND US that the GOP has historically been RABIDLY OPPOSED to infringement on 2nd Amendment rights and proudly show their off their big guns at every opportunity . . .

WILL GUN CONTROL STAY WINNING IN MISSOURI NEXT YEAR OR SIMPLY PRESENT THE GOP DOMINATED LEGISLATURE TO DUNK ON KANSAS CITY?!?

You decide . . .

It might not even make it to the Missouri Senate floor. Or only in very limited form.

The witness protection bill should be separated. That's actually a good idea.

Looking at the demographics and statistics of the homicides in KCMO for the last number of years, it becomes immediately apparent that neither of these "initiatives" will make the slightest difference.
Continued willful ignorance of the problem and its causes.
Smiley selfies Lucas feel-good crap.

Gun 'reforms' is nothing more than renaming Gun Control, which violates both The Constitution of the United States as well as the State of Missouri.

End of Discussion.

What’s radical is these laws are already on the books but q is making it look like it’s their fault. If only the police were allowed to do their jobs that the dimwits wouldn’t allow them to do. Weird.

THIS IS ALREADY A LAW AND THEY'RE JUST PRETENDING LIKE THEY'RE DOING SOMETHING. DOMESTIC ABUSERS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO OWN GUNS AND NEITHER ARE MINORS.

All I see are references to the Second Amendment to the Federal Constitution. Well Missouri has a constitution too, and its Bill of Rights Article 23 provides even stronger "keep and bear arms" protection than the federal version. The Legislature's options are very limited in light of fundamental Missouri law.

@2:53 Who the hell do you think you are when your statement says nothing. You couldn't carry a debate if you had a bucket to carry it in.

This proposal sounds decent but the only problem is, people who abuse gun ownership by domestic abuse and shooting up and down Troost at night "and we all know who that is" will get guns on the street anyway. It will never work. Those kind of people wild and ignorant like 2:53 are many.

The local politicians can't do anything but talk politics around the problem! Get yourself trained in what you're willing/comfortable with for self-defense!

Why do they want to take guns away from law abiding citizens so badly?

More smoke and mirrors from 12th and Oak trying to convince you they are doing something.

gangs and cartels are the real problem. The Republicans will not pass gun control. It would be suicide. Thug culture is big problem and gun laws won't affect them in the least. They steal guns, not buy them at stores.

My Boss at the Mission Kansas I.T. consulting staffing company, used so much cocaine over the years. He is responsible for the drug gangs coming here, the violence, the killings and the huge expense we as taxpayers bear on drug enforcement costs. He is just hidden in his closet snorting coke. And nobody cares. But he brought this plague here. The coke makes him feel better about his small penis size. If you use drugs - then your a partner of the cartels!

Where does almost gun violence happen in Missouri? In the predominantly black shithole ghettoes of Kansas City and St Louis. Maybe we need ghetto control.
