Protest petition against Shawnee development will make approval harder for city council

SHAWNEE, Kan. -- The Shawnee City Council will vote Monday on a controversial housing project near K-7 and Johnson Drive. The proposal includes 16 multi-family buildings containing 384 residential apartment units and 14 town home buildings with 42 units. The Planning Commission previously voted 7-0 that the council approve the Woodsonia Multifamily Project.

Sorry, Shawnee. You’re already one of the shittiest parts of JoCo, so it’s not like another Section 8 rental community is gonna hurt that much.

LOL take out a bank loan for a $350k mcMansion in far-as-fuck-out-in-the-sticks Shawnee just to see some section 8 coming your way - may as well have stayed closer in.

I'm wondering if this will be funded any by HUD? There isn't any properties like that in western Shawnee.

At least shawnee has the balls to stand up for stuff. Didn't they do that with a community center or something? Looks like they're going to have to do it again. How are politicians imposing this stuff when all the citizens obviously don't want it
