KCPD Communications Now Hiring

KCPD hiring call takers and dispatchers

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department is hiring call-takers and dispatchers in its communications unit. Tammy Bazzle, the communications unit staff development supervisor, said there are currently 17 open positions. She said there are always openings, but 17 is a lot.

If it takes so long for a 911 dispatcher to answer a phone at KCPD as I hear off and on it does, why do they have televisions hanging on the walls for the dispatchers to watch? Very clear to see they are not looking at security camera images.

9:09 if they are that busy then they don't need distractions like a TV.

Everyone is leaving KC haven't you heard? Besides they have cut back on all of those jobs. But I guess the few that are there can just put people on hold just like they have been doing, No problem here.
