Kansas City Star Questions Alleged Missouri 'Driving Whilst Black' Police Reforms

Culture war screed regarding data that isn't always so clear and has been used to spark controversy during election years . . . Read more:

Driving while black in Missouri is perilous. Will these changes reduce racial profiling?

For nearly two decades, law enforcement agencies in Missouri have been required to collect racial profiling data to combat unfair treatment of minorities by police. But the state's appalling record on racial disparities in vehicle stops has only continued to worsen during the last 18 years.

  1. Blacks more likely break traffic laws. This shit is so stupid. If you don't follow the rules on the road you will most likely get a ticket. I'm glad reckless drivers are getting tickets and hope they will continue.

  3. Anytime you pull one of them over, the probability of making an arrest is really high. Warrants, no insurance or registration, drugs, guns, etc.

  4. If blacks would obey the law and act responsible the cops would leave them alone.

Here's how I look at it. I'm a white man and if I'm driving through an area that is mostly black people I have a huge chance of being raped, robbed or killed. Now the police are not going to get too bent if they see me driving through there other than to think I must be a real retard.

If a black person is driving through an area that is mostly white people they have a huge chance of doing so without any worry of being a victim of crime. Now the police will be worried and watching this black person as they are probably only in this area to commit a crime and therefore will seek reasonable cause to pull them over which usually isn't too hard to find a reason to do so. Then after doing so chances are good they have a outstanding warrant of some sort on them or a vehicle with an infraction of some sort on it that will result with a ticket. The said ticket will later turn into a bench warrant when they fail to appear or pay the fine and the circle starts all over gain.

Driving while black is simply a false excuse made up by some so called black leaders to cover for the real reason and that is simply that black people disobey the law more than any other race. It isn't racial profiling, it's honest every day good police work.

  8. Racists out in full force here...naturally. You see, just because blacks are more likely to break traffic laws doesn't mean you can pull them over for no reason. See how that worka Beavis? Jethro, that make sense to you too?

You can't pull over a particular individual because they belong to a group that is more likely to break traffic laws UNLESS they themselves are breaking traffic laws, I think that was the point of 12:44's post.

  11. ^^^I think 12:44's point is he's a racist cocksucker and black people shouldn't be in his neighborhood or they'll get pulled over. It must be taxing to go through life living in fear of someone who doesn't look like you.

  12. Just because they commit 85 % of the violent and stupid crimes doesn't mean the other 15% is guilty.. Grow up.

The objectivity of pure numbers vs the subjectivity of racism.
