Kansas City Star Publishes Developer Christmas Wish List After TIF Rejection

Here's just a bit of dead-tree sadness as the newspaper plays publicity hack for developers with this long shot corporate welfare project begging City Hall for about 60-million bucks. What's worse is that people actually paid for this garbage today. Here's a news tease that's good enough to trash . . . Checkit:

Kansas City is rolling. Keep up the momentum with a new performing arts center hotel

The proposed Hotel Bravo would be built on the vacant lot adjacent to the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. Courtesy of E. J. Holtze Corporation I recently advised Kansas City's new mayor to take a page out of my book and go wherever there's a problem - then find a way to fix it.

  1. hat "vacant lot" is where the UMKC Performing Arts Center was supposed to go before that f**king Greitens and the damned GOP Legislature stole the money!

Put up a Hip Hop Bar and a Vietnamese Nail Salon instead of another damn Hotel to be sitting half-empty Downtown, at least they'd have some customers!

  5. Tony, lay off this one. This is project has benefit to the community and will actually generate some level of income for the City. This isn’t’ the run of the mill corporate giveaway like Waddell & Reed, and all the others. This project is good for this City and will complete and compliment the Performing Arts Center nicely. We need upscale, quality hotel in Kansas City. The best we have is the Intercon and that place...isn’t 5 star by any stretch of the imagination.

  7. KC taxpayers shouldn’t subsidize a luxury hotel! Whatever happened to risk taking capitalists in KC? All we have left are crony capitalists and bribe peddling lawyers!
